I work with intelligent motivated clients who are functioning relatively well in their lives but may feel stuck in certain areas. Whether it’s a relationship, career, health issue, life transition or some other emotional or mental roadblock that has you feeling like you’re not functioning at your best, we can get down to the root of it, get clear on direction, move through it and move forward. Depending upon your needs and desires, we can also address health issues simultaneously. This is an additional optional opportunity to have another perspective in addition to other health professionals with whom you may be working.

Hi, I’m Jonathan—welcome to your journey. Healing is a lot like an epic quest: full of challenges, discoveries, and moments of growth. But every hero needs a guide, and that’s where I come in. As a certified EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) specializing in Somatic Integration and Processing, I help adolescents, adults, and families discover meaningful change within their lives. When we feel a sense of support, containment, and encouragement we can begin to move toward an embodied and healthier way of being.

Sex & Porn Addiction along with Partner Trauma Betrayal is going to feel very intense and almost out of control for quite a while.
Couples and individuals who are angry, anxious, worried, depressed, shocked and have profound grief with being deceived call me. An individual who realizes that their addiction has turned their life and their families lives upside down needs a great deal of support. The betrayal is the tip of the iceberg, the deception is far worse. It's time to get real.

The change process varies, based on every individual, as does our treatment. I use Psychodynamic techniques (how we’ve been raised to interact with the world and people around us, and which parts of that experience still help us and which parts do not), Behavioral techniques (finding new ways in our lives to incentivize us to move us in more positive directions), Relational approaches (helping us re-define who we want to be with the people in our lives most important to us), and Systems theory (understanding how our race, gender, culture and background have impacted our journey and will play a role moving forward as well).

I help adults, adolescents, and romantic partners bring curiosity, insight, and compassion to their lives so they can experience change and genuine happiness.
Life has a way of making us forget our confident and calm selves. Stress spins us out. Fears grow into monsters. Anxiety steals us from our own peace and happiness. Relationships slip away. We suffer from the hurt and trauma inflicted by people, family, culture, power, religion, or even ourselves. It becomes too much, and we feel like falling apart.

Do you feel ready for change but aren’t sure where to start? Maybe you want to feel more confident in your choices, more honest in your relationships, or more secure in yourself day to day. Many of my clients come in longing for clarity about how to engage with the difficulties of life. My work is about helping people cultivate a different kind of relationship with life. Together, we’ll explore how you can nurture yourself with genuine care, protect yourself while staying open-hearted, and move toward the life you deeply want. Along the way, we’ll uncover your personal and societal roots of anxiety, depression, and stuck patterns.

I also work actively with couples, helping partners to clarify and communicate their needs, to listen to each other's feelings, and to find empathy for each other's experience
I've been in practice for over 30 years, helping people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and a range of other difficulties. I work from an integrative psychoanalytic perspective. This means that we work together to understand in a deep way the painful patterns that hold you back and where efforts to shield yourself from pain create more problems. We attend to your thoughts and feelings in the moment, which is in many ways like a mindfulness practice, aimed at enlarging acceptance of the known and as yet unknown parts of yourself.

Hi! My name is Gabriela, but you can call me Ella. You are not alone. Often in life, we feel alone or misunderstood. You are not alone in this experience, which may feel isolating and dark. Sitting in this experience can be scary and difficult to overcome. However, I believe therapy can help shine a light and make the darkness lighter. As a therapist, I would like to support and assist you in this journey of self-discovery and building the person you want to be. I support my clients in understanding what they need to re-establish and reconnect with themselves and others. My approach is based on post-modern approaches.

How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
