You’ve spent years curating a “meaningful life”: building your competence, shouldering responsibility, showing up at work, and providing for your family – you know, the “things men do.” But now, you quietly wonder what happened to your sense of purpose. You’ve been praised for being what others want, but inside, you feel disconnected from the deeper parts of yourself. That emotional distress, relational tension, and quiet aching that no one sees or seems to care about… you’re not the only one. Like so many other men, you’re ready to move beyond survival and build something meaningful from the inside out.

I currently work with both individuals and couples, providing a safe and supportive space to explore who you are and what truly matters to you. Whether you’re trying to better understand yourself, your sexuality, or build a deeper sense of connection in your relationship, therapy can be a meaningful step toward self-discovery and healing. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can take a deep breath and be completely yourself without judgment, pressure, or pretense. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. Together, we’ll work to uncover the patterns, beliefs, and stories that shape your life.

My ideal clients are people who are ready to better understand themselves, their emotions, and their relationships. Many are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, life transitions, or relationship challenges. They may feel overwhelmed by expectations, navigating change, or trying to find balance between caring for others and honoring their own needs. What they’re seeking most is relief, understanding, and a sense of empowerment. a space where they can show up fully as themselves without judgment or pressure to fit into anyone else’s definition of who they should be.

Life, work, and community are intertwined. I am open to those who may be finding it difficult to show up, or who are considering a change in various areas of life. While there is much unease in the world outside, talking it out with a supportive audience can be a way to feel more ease within. Together we can explore, reflect, learn and then re-write the story. I believe that it’s important to honor the truth that life can be hard. And that we may find hope in the moment while walking alongside a supportive team.

Relationships can be one of the most meaningful aspects of our lives. When something feels off, everything else can feel harder. You may be feeling stuck in the same arguments, wanting closeness but overwhelmed by the distance that keeps showing up between you. You may be craving emotional closeness but feeling like every attempt to reach for it somehow misses the mark. You may be feeling the strain of mismatched sexual desire or challenges in sex and intimacy. You want a therapist who understands the dynamics of queer partnerships or polyamorous/non-monogamous relationships.

My job is to begin where you are and help you prepare for your next stage of change. I use an integrative approach, working from the inside out (objects relations, family systems, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, others) to support your process and movement. We all start with assumptions about life. Then life happens, and we have to begin again having been changed. Loss becomes growth as we embrace new and mature understanding of ourselves and life. I am a clinical psychologist with over 10 years experience working with complicated but interesting people who are addressing individual, relationship, life, and spiritual issues.

I frequently work with individuals and families with a wide variety of challenges. Some clients are simply looking to find a place that they can take a deep breath and be in a place to address things that they want to work on. While others have severe symptoms or complex issues that are frightening and overwhelming where they need help sorting out thoughts and feelings while learning how to manage and navigate the challenges. Each client is unique and so are their experiences so my goal is to tailor treatment to best benefit my clients. I also run a small non profit counseling center and train new clinicians in the field.

Is the stress of your life overwhelming you? Or has a past experience left you stuck and unable to move forward? You're likely fed up with how anxiety or trauma have crippled your ability to function in everyday life, isolating you from others, and leaving you feeling trapped or hopeless. You might not even remember a time you didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to feel a sense of confidence. You’re ready to experience a sense of ease. Most of all, you’re ready to reclaim a sense of control over your life.

Bisexual Therapists

What is bisexual-affirming therapy?

Bisexual-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client’s bisexual identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual’s orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of bisexual people. This support is especially important, as research shows that bisexual individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation compared to other groups. Bisexual-affirming therapy acknowledges that bisexual individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as invalidation, relationship challenges, and minority stress—that require specialized understanding and intervention. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for bisexual partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship.

While not required, some clients prefer working with bisexual therapists who may bring personal insight to the therapeutic relationship. However, a non-bisexual therapist with strong training and a genuine commitment to affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who understands how identity impacts mental health and can create a space of trust and respect.

What can a bisexual therapist help with?

Bisexual-affirming therapists can provide support across a wide range of concerns relevant to bisexual individuals. Whether through personal or professional experience, they often have specialized knowledge in areas such as the coming out process, navigating stereotypes, and dealing with common stressors. Relationship support is another key area of focus, as bisexual clients may face unique challenge when dating or maintaining relationships across genders. Affirming therapists can also help clients build coping strategies for managing discrimination or stigma.

Additionally, many bisexual-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organizations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection. It's important to note that therapists provide can talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

How do I find a bisexual therapist?

The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding bisexual-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialize in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit.

During initial consultations or early sessions, ask potential therapists about their specific training in bisexual-affirming care, their experience with LGBTQ+ clients, and their therapeutic approach to identity-related concerns. An effective bisexual-affirming therapist will demonstrate genuine understanding of bisexual experiences, including awareness of the unique challenges facing bisexual individuals. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
