People come to me because they are struggling and tired. They are struggling in their relationships with others and with themselves. Often, that includes self harm or suicidal thoughts. They might be told they tend to overreact, are dramatic, or "too much". Many are struggling with identity, how they see the world and how they see themselves in the world, often still dealing with painful wounds from childhood or versions of their younger selves. My clients want to feel more balanced and in control. People come to me because day to day tasks can be so distressing and overwhelming and they want to have a better quality of life.

You’re intelligent and capable, yet something in your personal relationships keeps looping. Maybe anger shows up fast and loud, or goes underground until it explodes. Maybe you feel disconnected from your partner and want a more intimate bond. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety or depression, or you’re using porn, sex, or substances to numb feelings. You want practical tools, honest feedback, and a warm, safe space to understand what your emotions are telling you and to grow into the partner—and person—you know you can be. You’re looking for a therapist who is direct, experiential, and focused on real change, not just talk.

As a culturally affirming and trauma-informed therapist, I honor how your upbringing, cultura, family expectations, faith, and lived experiences shape the way you move through this season.
Our first session is a soft landing. We’ll talk about what brought you here, the challenges you’re facing, and the ways your body, mind, and heart have been holding this season. I’ll help you name what feels heavy, identify immediate needs, and explore what healing looks like for you.

I am a general practitioner licensed in California and New York, with experience working with individuals across the lifespan, treating a range of presenting concerns, including: complex trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, body-focused repetitive behaviors, life transitions, minority stress, and family conflict.
I believe the key to change lies in cultivating a safe, strong therapeutic relationship. Through a developmental lens, I aim to understand each person’s history and how their unique story informs current challenges. I feel passionate about working with patients from diverse backgrounds and utilize a culturally-informed approach when understanding life experiences and associated thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In conjunction with this psychodynamic, relationally-driven approach, I help patients identify a clear presenting concern, develop goals, and integrate appropriate evidence-based practice tailored to their specific needs.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
