Through advanced training in
Somatic
Experiencing, PACT, DARe and at the Jung Institute of Los Angeles, I have learned to work with the deeper aspects of my clients' history, personality and traumas to help them unlock their potential.
My specialties include: couples stuck in conflict, ineffective communication, mistrust/affairs/infidelity, and anxiety/panic disorders, early & mid-life transitions, as well as teens and young adults struggling to find a path forward. If you are searching this site, there is a strong possibility your life path has gotten off track in relationship, career, or meaning. Asking for help is the most powerful step towards growth. I have advanced training working with couples to build safety and intimacy, as well helping individuals overcome trauma or difficulties stemming from challenging early life relationships.

With a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and over 500+ hours of
somatic
and yoga certifications, I have some nontraditional tricks up my sleeve.
Working with me is like sitting down with one of your best friends, lending you an open nonjudgmental ear, sprinkled with a little laughter and a whole lot of vulnerable validation. Expect a healthy dose of challenging harmful core beliefs to bring out the best version of you. We’ll set tangible goals and celebrate small victories; healing is non-linear and often takes a few tries. As always, everything in life takes practice.

Accepting new (in-person and telehealth) clients. Welcome, I'm Taylor! I have had a passion for healing from a very young age. It all began with the healing journey of myself, through which I explored countless modalities. I found that the most profound growth came from combining both eastern and western practices. This is why I focus my work in merging east and west. My approach is integrative as well as eclectic. While my practice is grounded in traditional depth psychotherapy, I incorporate spiritual healing elements such as intuitive therapy, spiritual advising, energy clearing, yoga nidra & guided meditations.

Let's face it, life is not always easy, and can often feel more challenging when we go through our struggles alone. As with many new endeavors, taking the first step can be the hardest part, so I commend you on your willingness and courage to seek support. People come to therapy for many reasons, and often it is because they are seeking relief from a life challenge that is hindering their ability to feel more joy, confidence, connectedness, and inner peace.

Sometimes, life holds nothing back. We’re totally overwhelmed. It’s all too much. Too much busy-ness, too much hurry, and too much stress. While you’re a master of taking care of everything and everyone around you, taking care of YOU is often forgotten. And your regular pattern of “go, go, go…” leads to anxiety, burnout, or trauma. And so, you’re just…exhausted. You know something has to change. You know life has more to offer. But you’re not sure where to start.

Individual
Somatic
Psychotherapy: Do you ever feel stuck in patterns that hold you back? Maybe you've been to therapy and gained insight yet you act in recurrent ways that continually limit you. In my
somatic
psychotherapy work, I illuminate your body's habitual tendencies, and together we skillfully update or replace them. When embodied patterns are updated toward well-being and practiced enough in the context of therapy, they become new habits and eventually, embodied expectations. When well-being patterns are embodied, habitual, and expected, you tend to experience lasting change.

In the therapeutic process, I use a mind-body approach that integrates traditional talk therapy, bodywork, and
Somatic
Experiencing techniques to recognize and work through interpersonal issues and relieve accumulated emotional stress in your body that interferes with intimacy, creativity, a sense of purpose, and overall well-being.
In my work with you, I am invested in establishing a safe, supportive and truthful connection aimed at working through underlying psychological issues that have caused you emotional pain, perpetuated self-defeating behaviors, and trapped you in inauthentic roles. From your commitment to the therapeutic process, you can come to experience deeper intimacy in relationships, increased self-esteem and confidence, and greater joy and pleasure in living.

People who choose traditional methods are often not able to make significant progress even after years of therapy because they focus on symptoms and coping/suppressing/denying their emotions. My clients tried EMDR, talk therapy, CBT, and others but continued to struggle to resolve their anger, sadness, fear, numbness, negative self talk, broken relationships and isolation. I use legal psychedelic medicines (cannabis and ketamine) with a patent pending
somatic
processing technique (SLIP) to facilitate the healing of deep emotional, attachment, and core belief wounds. Most, within 3 months are living the best lives they ever have.

I am a therapist specializing in trauma and helping clients develop corrective emotional relationships and healthy attachments. I apply innovative techniques such as EMDR and
somatic
awareness for trauma, depression and anxiety. I draw from many treatments and I employ a diverse body of proven interventions to achieve treatment goals. At Pacifica Graduate Institute, I gained a creative depth psychology base while studying many cutting-edge modalities. By using dream work, psychodrama, sand tray, and sensorimotor therapies, I have enriched my practice beyond talk therapy as alternative methods to reach the unconscious.

We can work together to cultivate trauma recovery using techniques including polyvagal theory, mindfulness meditation,
somatic
psychology, and CBT.
Are you struggling with anxiety and trauma and turning towards unhealthy coping mechanisms in an attempt to manage your emotions? Now is a trying time for almost everyone, and if you have a trauma background what's coming up in the current environment may be reminiscent of the stress, isolation, and fear induced by early childhood experiences. You don't have to handle this alone, and with clinically tested techniques to regulate the mind and body, it's possible to shift from a place of disempowerment to strength.

Using Brainspotting, mindfulness and
somatic
, integrative approaches, we can help you connect to your grounded deeper self, and shift into a life that feels more authentic, connected, confident, even joyful.
I help high-achieving sensitive people from immigrant and other diverse backgrounds connect more to their authentic selves and thrive. You are a high performer---maybe even the go-to person for other people. Perhaps you identify as an introvert, empath/HSP, creative, changemaker, or healer. You feel deeply, and are concerned about others. Outwardly, you’ve held it together, worked hard to keep others happy. But inside, you're exhausted, frustrated with yourself and others, feeling unseen. You don’t have to do this work alone, amidst the existential grief of the pandemic and persisting inequalities. I'm here for you. I can relate.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
