Many of my adult clients come to struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma or loss and are unaware of just how long term the impact is on their lives.
We all hit bumps in the road that we feel unequipped to handle. If you are reading this, you are probably experiencing one of those now. I work with my clients to help them to navigate thorough life's challenges. I do not have a handy manual to offer simplistic answers for your life. What I do offer is to listen to you without judgment, to help you identify the obstacles that keep you from moving forward, to help you find internal resources, and to work with you to help you discover the answers that work for you. I can teach you to be more compassionate with yourself since being human is to struggle.

Since 2005, I have used my caring, non-judgemental approach to help my clients to gain expertise in using new and more effective ways of dealing with the every day stresses and strain and resolve past traumas that can plague relationships and erode self confidence.
Relationships are a fact of life. We all live in relation to each other as spouses, children, parents & friends. Even in the best of these relationships, inevitably, problems occur. Often, we are able to resolve problems on our own. However, there are times when the help of an expert in relationships, such as a Marriage and Family Therapist, is needed to: *improve communications, *increase understanding in relationships, *resolve conflicts, *improve parenting skills,*relieve stress, depression, anxiety,*strengthen the bonds of relationships & gain a better understanding of one another.

I utilize an integrative approach influenced by Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Cognitive Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Trauma-informed care.
I believe it is important to understand how past events have shaped our perception of people, relationships, and the world. It is through this awareness that we are able to begin our journey towards change, and establish meaningful relationships. I am compassionate in my belief that emotions and sensations are an important aspect of life worth exploring.

I use EMDR and trauma-informed therapy to help you process postpartum anxiety and birth trauma, so you can move out of survival mode and finally feel more grounded, present, and calm.
Motherhood wasn’t supposed to feel this overwhelming. You pictured your birth unfolding differently, and instead you’re carrying a mix of fear, disappointment, and questions you can’t shake. Now postpartum feels nothing like you imagined either. You wake up already tense, moving through the day with a constant hum of worry about sleep, feeding, milestones, or your own recovery. All while trying to look like you’re holding it together. You want to enjoy this season like the other moms you know, maybe even imagine more children someday, but right now it all feels too heavy. This is not the motherhood you thought you were stepping into

Living with trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, or negative beliefs can take a toll on our ability to find pleasure in life.
Therapy is designed to tailor to the individual. Your problem is not too big or too small. You do not need a "real" reason or a "good" reason to seek therapy. If you are searching for a therapist, you have decided something in your life is not working the way you want it to. Give yourself permission to find out what that is and begin imagining how your life could change.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
