As a trauma-informed therapist trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), I take a holistic, body-based approach to healing.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in self-doubt, or impacted by past experiences, you’re not alone. You may notice it not only in your thoughts, but in your body through tension, restlessness, feeling on edge, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Whether you’re a teen navigating intense emotions or an adult wanting to feel more grounded, confident, and secure, therapy can offer a supportive place to begin.
Together, we’ll create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, better understand what’s coming up, and reconnect with your mind, body, and sense of self.

I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), along with somatic practices and mindfulness.
Life has a way of covering up our true selves. We can become buried under discouragement or self-blame for past mistakes. There are dreams hidden behind unfulfilling jobs or low self-esteem, we just need to tap into all the wonderful potential on the inside. Just because you might have given up at one point, and even if that point is right now, it doesn't mean that your dream is dead. The fact you're here shows the dream still alive, and it’s not too late for you to uncover it. If deep down you're not satisfied with your life, you have the ability to make changes.

We all have suffering in our lives-- it's part of human experience. Too often, however, there is a layer of unnecessary psychological pain caused by unconscious defenses. We often resist painful feelings and the realities they point to. When we get stuck in our resistance we get emotionally sick and our suffering increases. I work together with patients to honestly and compassionately untangle, face, and accept the truths they've tended avoid on their own.

Together we help them reopen, using somatic work, parts work, and other trauma-focused tools.
You are the one who holds it all together. Capable, driven, the person everyone leans on. Somewhere along the way you learned that being needed was safer than being known, that performance earned the love that presence did not. It worked. You built a life that looks like proof you made it. Yet underneath, you feel strangely unreal, disconnected from your own body, going through the motions of a life that should feel like yours. At Holistic Trauma Therapy, we help you find your way back to the self beneath the performance.

I'm here to help you explore what it means for you to live a life beyond survival, to identify your needs, your values, and integrate all the parts of yourself so that you can practice living optimally well. I primarily work with adults struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, disordered eating, and relationship challenges of all kinds.
Finding a therapist can be a daunting task so it's my hope to simplify your search and start with the important details: I'm happy to do a consult at no cost, I do not take insurance, I do provide superbills and I will absolutley explain how those work.

I draw from EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, IFS (parts work), and cognitive and dialectical approaches.
Are you exhausted in a way that’s hard to explain? Do you find yourself going through the motions of a life that looks fine on the outside, while quietly feeling disconnected, depleted, and far from yourself? If so, you are not alone, and something can be different.
I work with women who are carrying a lot. Women who grew up learning to be everything for everyone else, and somewhere along the way lost touch with who they actually are. Women healing from trauma, narcissistic abuse, eating disorders, and the particular kind of exhaustion that comes from spending years performing a version of yourself that doesn’t quite fit.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
