I hold a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in counseling from Sacramento State University. I have experience working in both Community-Based and School- Based Mental Health settings. Throughout my experiences, I have learned to value the importance of providing a safe environment for client to express themselves.

I provide psychotherapeutic services for children, teens and adults in Davis, CA. Prior to private practice I worked in community mental health and residential treatment. I use a person-centered approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs and strengths. I have particular interest in working with young people and their parents through the ups and downs, developmental challenges, and stresses of growing up. Clients have shared that I have an easy, down to earth, warm and relational approach.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I received my Master Degree at Humboldt State University where I then worked with college students in individual and group therapy. Afterwards I worked at a nonprofit doing individual, couples, and group therapy and then at a community based organization with children and adolescents. I approach clients through a trauma-focused, client centered, and acceptance based perspective while providing education and support. I do this by using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, strength based approaches, and mindfulness practices.

Welcome, I appreciate your interest in exploring the options of my practice. As a registered Art Therapist and Marriage and Family Therapist my approach tends to be interactive. I value a strength-based perspective with clients that focuses on identifying and building strengths as a means to achieve your goals, especially approaches to well being and happiness. I often use solution-focused and narrative approaches that include skill building through cognitive-behavioral techniques. I provide a variety of modalities to address clients' needs which includes art therapy groups for teens and adults as means of support and expression.

I believe that therapy can be a rewarding and life-changing experience. I became a therapist to help people lead happier, more productive lives. Clients need a sense of connection and trust, but also need someone who will gently challenge long-standing beliefs and patterns in a way that leads to positive change. I have been a therapist in the Davis community for 20 years, and have extensive training in Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Coherence therapy, and Long term psychodynamic psychotherapy.

As a therapist, the connection between my client and me is central to the process. In this moment you feel lost, disconnected from your path/career, and unsure how to find self-fulfillment, while feeling the weight and intense expectations of others. You know you need help and don't know where to turn. Explaining how lost you feel to others around you, will make you more vulnerable than you wish to feel. You feel alone and know that something has to change. The stress of school and/or work is insurmountable, sharing these feelings with friends and family is not possible. Your stress causes intense pressure and anxiety which is affecting every aspect of your life.

You may feel hurt and like you are carrying too much stress and worry. You are searching for a way to cope with your stressors and are seeking more fulfillment in your life. You’ve tried different ways to help yourself, but your challenges persist. Navigating life is hard, but you are worthy of support as you go through it.

I specialize in helping people improve their relationships to others like a partner or a child, but most especially to one's self. Symptoms such as depression or anxiety, or feelings of shame, can interfere with these connections. Our psyches naturally want to move towards health and growth yet we can get stuck or hopeless that relief is possible. I believe in the value of self-acceptance. Given that many trauma feelings were created in relationship, I believe we need a trusting relationship to heal. If I'm that person for you, I take that role very seriously and work hard for your hope, needs, healing, and growth.

I find it useful to combine your goals for change as well as the aim to get to know yourself better as the foundation for therapy. My training in trauma and LGBTQ+ informed care is foundational to my work with you. I have training and experience working with many different presenting issues and identities, as well as clients' support systems (partners, parents, families, children.) I work relationally with individuals, families, and couples.
