I have been licensed since 2006, and my background includes extensive experience in addiction treatment in inpatient, outpatient, and detox settings. That clinical experience gives me a strong foundation, but what matters most in my work is tailoring therapy to the individuals. I especially enjoy working with professionals, both individuals and couples, who want a thoughtful, high-quality therapeutic experience. My approach is both depth-oriented and practical. I use evidence-based, eclectic, and psychodynamic therapies. The goal is not simply to manage symptoms, but to understand what is driving them and create change.

My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, integrating art therapy, CBT, IFS, and optional walk and talk sessions to support emotional regulation, confidence, and a greater sense of calm, connection, and security.
You may notice your child or teen is deeply aware of others’ feelings, sensitive to their surroundings, or experiences the world more intensely than those around them. They are often empathetic and thoughtful, yet may struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, overwhelm, or feeling misunderstood at home, at school, or with friends. At times, they may try to keep the peace by shrinking themselves, taking on others’ emotions, or holding things inside. You may recognize these same tendencies within yourself. Therapy can help make sense of patterns like holding feelings in, over-adjusting, or balancing care for others with care for yourself.

I engage clients in modalities that shift and awaken their connection with their inner wisdom, such as art, sound, dream exploration, and somatics.
Are you carrying family patterns that feel older than your own life? You may feel trapped in repeating relationship cycles, chronic anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a persistent sense that you are responsible for holding others together. Many of my clients are navigating intergenerational trauma, unspoken family wounds, or the quiet grief of not belonging within their own lineage. I specialize in ancestral psychotherapy — supporting clients in healing inherited patterns, restoring inner authority, and reclaiming a grounded, self-led life rooted in clarity, connection, and choice.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
