Waitlist for new clients
I have worked with parents, adoptive or natural, of children who have suffered trauma resulting in attachment difficulties.
We all come with baggage. It makes us who we are and yet it can be so heavy. My idea of therapy's purpose is to help clients lighten their load. Everybody wants to make healthier choices, to find joy in life. How that is done is individual and to be discovered. I have interest in and respect for the differences in people's experience. I also have faith in each person's ability to find a path to wholeness. If you have experienced trauma, suffer from anxiety, depression, or other disturbances we can find the way to access your own inner healing power.

I have significant experience working with those that struggle with anxiety, depression & trauma.
Clients that I work with are looking to explore the difficult emotions that they are carrying & process events that they have experienced that are impacting their every day life. Stress, worries, & life satisfaction are often what bring clients to therapy however processing the needs not being met & how to shift our awareness to engage in life in a way forward are what I often support clients in working on. Processing trauma & past events can be a focus as this can help to change perspective, increase emotional vulnerability, explore relationships dynamics as well as increase the awareness that trauma has on the whole body.

I have completed the MAPS-endorsed program to become a certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider (PATP) that prepared me for clinically guiding clients through Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and providing integration post-KAP infusion, which is offered on-site at Windows Health Clinic, along with training towards the anticipated medical release of psilocybin and MDMA. I am also beginning EMDR training in May to June 2024, which has been shown to be helpful for reprocessing trauma memories.

I provide an integrative and responsive approach to your needs, grounded in insight-oriented, cognitive behavioral, and trauma informed therapies.
Is your teen anxious, withdrawn, or engaging in behaviors that concern you? Is your child experiencing difficulty in school, with friendships, or managing their emotions? Young people often express their needs and emotions differently than adults, and it can be difficult for parents to understand or know what to do. In my practice, I help young people process what they are experiencing, and help parents understand and feel confident supporting their child's growth and development. In addition, I have extensive experience working with adults struggling with transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, and depression.

Welcome! I recently completed my PhD in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law, meaning I have a more in-depth understanding of the intersection between the mental health and criminal justice systems - this does not make me a clinical psychologist. I have also been recently certified as a Certified Personality Disorder Provider (C-PD). My primary therapeutic modality is Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which has been empirically proven to help individuals struggling with self-harm, suicidal ideation, intense mood fluctuations, unstable relationships, poor emotion regulation capabilities, and frequent impulsive & risk-taking behaviors.

Psychotherapy aims to equip us with tools for the difficulties of life. Anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, identity issues, and evidence of abuse may place demands on our ability to cope, and a trained professional is here to help. Couples therapy can create lasting positive change for couples encountering communication or intimacy roadblocks. It helps to identify patterns, triggers, and blindspots, and then provides approaches to help you feel understood and respected.

There is nothing quite like emotional pain. We carry it with us everywhere. It messes up our life. Sometimes it makes us want to hide from other people; sometimes from ourselves. Sometimes we turn to various escapes to quiet that insistent feeling in our bodies. We look to one solution after another until we learn to mistrust every solution. And we are right. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. In fact, there isn't even a one-size-fits-all question. You are unique, and only you have the answer. My role is to help you find it.

Hello! Is your child or teen struggling? Are you a young adult looking for support? I specialize in helping children, teens and young adults get through tough times. Kids often have a harder time knowing when they need help. They may act out with eccentric behavior, or keep it all in, seeming suddenly sad and reserved. Young adults can often use a supportive space to open up about their own unique challenges. In therapy, we find tools to communicate what's hard and develop confidence and a strong sense of self along the way.

I'm trauma-sensitive, strength-based & depth-informed.
My ideal client is active in their own healing. At times, insight & realizations may flow freely, whereas, at other times, the journey is more introspective & contemplative. Whether this is your first experience with therapy, or you're well-seasoned and consider yourself "therapized", I welcome you to individual or couple's therapy. I like helping you recognize & identify your emotions and the impact they have on you, so you are able to tend to your feelings appropriately, and communicate your needs more effectively with those around you. This process increases intimacy, and deepens your relationship with yourself & your partner(s).

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
