Life has never been particularly easy, but lately we are faced with additional stress. As a psychologist, I meet with men and women, couples and families who are coping with conflict in their marriages, conflicts with their children, financial pressures, and workplace stress. Things might seem so overwhelming that we despair of ever recapturing the happiness and optimism that we once might have had. I can show you ways to reduce your anxiety, and develop new coping strategies to improve interactions in your family, your relationships and your workplace. You can find confidence and recapture a sense of well being.

As Anaïs Nin once wrote, “We see the world not as it is, but as we are.” Each of us carries a lens shaped by our history, beliefs, and experiences. When we pause to reflect, we create the possibility of shifting that lens, releasing old patterns, and opening ourselves to new ways of being. With 20 years of clinical practice, I am dedicated to walking alongside clients as they discover their own capacity for resilience, growth, and change.

This life is our greatest adventure! I believe each person has the knowledge and ability to heal themselves but often are in need of a safe container for self exploration. My goal is to hold a safe collaborative space where my clients decide how, where and how deep we go. My desire is to reflect and foster a place for my clients to explore the challenges, sorrows, joys and hidden desires, and exciting lessons life has to offer. Bearing witness to another person's process is an honor.

Through questions, interpretations, insights and humor, individual and/or couples feel safe to explore their particular dynamics. I help each individual understand what can and cannot be changed and work from there. Couples will learn to regulate emotions and reactions and to manage problems more effectively so each can feel heard, understood and validated. My approach also works for individuals who feel like they are bystanders in their own lives. If passivity is getting in your way and someone else is making choices for you, I can help by providing the structure for change that will help you feel more self-aware and competent.

Therapy is about uncovering patterns that restrict emotions, thoughts, experience, and behavior. I see a variety of clients, from tech leaders to stay at home parents. The client feedback I receive is that I am especially helpful at relationships, career related issues, grief and loss, perfectionism. Clients find me easy to connect with, and appreciate my warmth, sense of humor, and ability to dissect issues. Together, we will work deeply in a safe environment.

Are you feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or going through life on autopilot? Would you like to pivot to a positive mindset and reconnect with your life’s meaning! While therapy is often about exploring and processing through what’s wrong, it is equally important to cultivate what’s strong—your values, strengths, and sense of purpose. It’s about learning to flourish, not just cope. It is also about improving relationships. Research in psychology consistently shows that strong relationships predict happiness more reliably than wealth, success, or status. They enhance physical health, emotional resilience, and even longevity.

In today’s fast paced world, we are faced with many stressors, obstacles and challenges. Sometimes we need to slow down and take stock of what we have and changes we may want to make. My practice is geared towards helping adults and couples achieve the life that they want rather than struggling just to get by. Therapy can be both challenging and an exciting experience. Together, we can work on eliminating your anxiety, depression, relationships problems and general discontent.

Hello, I utilize a supportive therapeutic approach that is particularly beneficial for individuals feeling trapped in negative often self destructive patterns or dealing with inner conflict. My practice focuses on helping clients cope with OCD, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I strive to provide clients with deeper insights, enhancing awareness of the underlying roots of their symptoms. Through our work together, I help clients understand that their behaviors and emotional reactions often stem from unconscious processes. This perspective illuminates how the unconscious can lead individuals to act out.

My objective is to make your life better now and into the future. Therapists helped me over the years, taught and inspired me to become one. I pivoted to my career as a therapist 16 years after earning a B.A. in Economics at University of Chicago. I earned my LCSW at Smith College. I'm a mother of two and a first-generation child of immigrants. In my practice I want you to make the most of your time with me. I work with a range of clients, from executives to college students. My office is tucked into hills and trees. Clients are from my town, Mill Valley, Sausalito, Kentfield, Tiburon, San Francisco and the South Bay. I Zoom too.

I take an active role in helping you find your way back onto a path of meaningful direction. While I respect the need to create space and allow for silence and trust building I also don't sit on the side lines. I am there to help you find out what it is that is "wrong" and provide evidence based modalities or paths out of that particular issue. I like using the tools of cognitive behavioral therapy while also helping a person find kindness for themselves in identifying where the problem patterns originated. I have expertise in grief, couples work, recovery and co-dependency as well anxiety and depression. See my website for more.

Navigating life can be difficult. Perhaps you find yourself stuck in problematic relational patterns, struggling to find a different way. Maybe you criticize and put limitations on yourself. Perhaps you have endless empathy for everyone but yourself. Maybe you’ve turned to alcohol or substances to avoid the pain. Maybe you don’t feel much of anything at all. Perhaps you are simply in a rut and you don’t know how to get yourself out of it. The good news is, by simply looking for help you are on your way to regaining confidence, agency, and a fuller, more authentic sense of self. A self that CAN navigate the difficulties of life.

Stress and worry can take its toll on our minds and bodies. If you experience high levels of these, or feel empty at the end of the day, I will provide a safe and caring environment with which to explore the causal factors. I enjoy working with codependency, Self-development, life transitions, and relational dynamics.

Therapy is a powerful tool for changing relationships with your partner, family, or other significant people. Most importantly, therapy can transform your relationship with yourself. My more than 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist has shown that when people improve how they treat and view themselves, even in small ways, the benefits are enormous: Reduced stress, emotional turmoil, anxiety, and negative thinking. At the same time, psychotherapy can help you increase confidence, contentment, and self-acceptance, as well as better communication with those you love.

I specialize in helping people heal from narcissistic abuse and toxic relationships, as well as the deep overwhelm that often comes with them.
Reaching out for support isn’t easy, it takes courage, especially when you're already feeling worn down. But the fact that you're here means something inside you is ready for change. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of yourself. Maybe you're carrying pain from trauma, anxiety, or relationship struggles. I want you to know you're not alone. In the work we do together, we can begin to gently reconnect with the parts of you that feel lost or hidden. With time, you can start to feel more like yourself again, more at ease, more whole, and more able to move through life with clarity, strength, and peace.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
