I work with self-aware, high-performing women who want real, deep, lasting healing and freedom. Maybe you’ve done therapy before, read the books, journalled, and know your patterns inside out. And still… you feel stuck, repeating old stories you just can’t shake. Insight is powerful, but it’s not always enough. You might be longing for real change, tired of living in your head and spinning in self-awareness without relief. Maybe you are the “strong one” - the one who seems to have it all together, but is quietly overwhelmed and feeling stuck in old patterns, pain, and reactions.

Is your teen or pre-teen struggling and you know they need help, but you are not sure where to start? Would you like them to talk to someone who specializes in adolescents? I can help your child and your family get through the rough patches. I help with a wide variety of teen and pre-teen issues including depression, anxiety, school attendance, substance abuse and family conflict. I also have expertise and experience working with transgender and gender non-conforming youth, and helping parents and families through the transition experience from a gender positive approach. If you are a parent and you are here looking for help, I know already that you are your child’s advocate. You are in your child’s corner. That support is a powerful force in their life, and so important for resilience, but when your child is struggling it can be so scary and so hard to know what to do. With grown kids of my own, I’ve been there as a parent through the rocky times too. I can help. Give me a call.

You might be struggling to break free from an unhealthy relationship with someone you love. Your heart cares deeply, but things may have become emotionally or physically unhealthy. You wonder if you're making a mountain out of a molehill, and you need an unbiased sounding board to help you sift through all the emotions. Is it them? Am I contributing to the dysfunction? Do I stay or do I go? You might paradoxically want both and neither option. You feel so conflicted. I'm here to help you unravel your heart and your thoughts so you can move forward in your life, either way.

You are a courageous person! If you have come this far in your search for support, this is what I have found to be true: you have tried every strategy you know to find relief from whatever is troubling you. It is painful to keep watching the people you love struggle. You would do anything to make things better, but you feel stuck. You are not alone. NOW is the time to talk with someone who can offer you new strategies to help you through a difficult phase. TODAY is the day that someone joins you on your journey and holds hope.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
