You already know you are anxious. You've read all the books, and tried all the breathing techniques but nothing is working. You want to get to the root of it and find some relief without loosing yourself. My goal is to offer a compassionate space where you can begin to reconnect with your helpful emotions, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others. I also work with adults who find themselves unable to feel or are "dissatisfied" with life but can't seem to get out of stuck patterns because of past childhood neglect, trauma, or emotional abuse. I help people move forward in freedom from the past.

My clients are resilient and working towards breaking the cycles of generational/intergenerational trauma by creating new paths, traditions, and coping strategies. They trust that working through and learning from past experiences develops confidence and healthy coping skills. My clients believe that well-being is grounded in self-awareness and connection to the body. They are motivated to build the skills that allow them to participate fully in healthy relationships.

New beginnings can often be disguised as painful endings. I work closely with those who have been through tragic events, suffered childhood abuse, those who have been victimized by others, as well as those who might feel like they have nowhere left to turn. My goal is to help you find your inner strength, and to courageously be free to display it and be proud. I am empathetic to my client’s needs, ambitious to provide support, and offer a nonjudgmental space for you to share and truly be heard.

My approach to therapy is person-centered, collaborative, and nontraditional, with a heavy dose of warmth and humor. My practice is shaped less by theory and more by who you are and what works best for you. I tend to understand life’s challenges through a postmodern perspective, paying close attention to the systems and institutions that shape our lives in visible and invisible ways. I work from a trauma-informed lens, with particular care for experiences related to oppression, marginalization, and transgenerational or familial struggles. Play, connection, curiosity and levity are the cornerstones of my practice.

Porn addiction can quietly erode trust in a relationship, leaving one partner feeling hurt and inadequate while the other feels caught in a cycle of guilt, secrecy, and broken promises despite all their willpower. Over time, this often leads to growing disconnection or even a sense of betrayal. If this is your reality, you are not alone. What often begins as normal screen use or social media can progress into porn sites, cam sites, or OnlyFans and become a pattern that is difficult to control, even for men disciplined in every other area of life.

I started Align because I want therapy to feel different. In many families, feelings were something you managed quietly, needing help felt like failure, boundaries were seen as passive aggression, and defying expectations felt like betrayal. I don't see it that way. Whether we are talking family or a relationship, you can do all of those things without alienating anyone. I think most of us were simply never taught the skills, and then we spend years judging ourselves for not having them. So my work starts from understanding, not fixing. We look at the patterns you inherited and decide together which ones still serve you.

Entering therapy can feel vulnerable, but it is also a meaningful step toward lasting emotional ease. When relationships, life circumstances, or ongoing responsibilities leave you feeling off balance, it may show up as anxiety, exhaustion, loneliness, or a sense of disconnection from yourself and others. Outwardly, your life may appear successful and well managed, yet privately you may be carrying burdens that few people see. Together, we can make sense of what lies beneath the surface and find relief from persistent inner tension.

Reaching out for therapy can feel weird, vulnerable, or honestly just exhausting sometimes. Many of the people I work with are carrying way more than they let other people see. Some are in the middle of burnout, relationship issues, trauma, grief, identity questions, neurodivergent overwhelm, or just feeling completely disconnected from themselves and their life. Therapy with me is not about judging you or trying to force you into a box. It is about having a space where you can actually breathe, make sense of what is going on, and slowly start figuring out what healing and being yourself even looks like for you.

I work with kids, teens, families, and adults who want to understand what’s happening underneath the surface. Sometimes that shows up as anxiety, ADHD, conflict, big emotions, or feeling stuck in the same patterns over and over. Other times, people come in knowing that something feels off, even if they can’t quite put it into words yet.

I love working with people who look like they have it all together but don't feel that way, couples who keep having the same fight no matter how hard they try, and adults who have spent years believing they're the problem. Together we'll explore why there is stress and overwhelm. I can help you see the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, so you have more control and flexibility. I'll help you move beyond repetitive conflict and towards more productive communication and deeper connection in your relationships. If ADHD or neurodivergence is part of your story, I bring specialized training to help you grow self compassion.

“Is it safe?” That is the primary question embedded in the interwoven fabric of all relationships. The desire to know how safe it is to be their authentic self, to share their wildest dreams, deepest fears, or maybe even discover something new together. Similarly, as an individual, you may ask the same about your identity. What is your story? Are there problem stories impacting your relationships? As your therapist, I provide a warm, inviting, safe environment where we can explore areas of concern and dig into the topics in need of care and attention.

If you're ready to make meaningful, lasting changes in your life, I can help. If you've been to therapy before and felt like you gained insight but didn't see real change, you're not alone—and therapy can be different. I believe lasting change happens when we're willing to examine and let go of familiar patterns that no longer serve us. My role is to support, challenge, and guide you through that process with compassion, honesty, and respect.

FAQ - About Multiracial Counseling
Why might mixed race or multiracial identity be important to address in therapy?
Mixed race or multiracial identity can shape how you understand yourself and relate to others around you, so it is natural that this identity may be important to speak about in therapy. If you identify as mixed race, you may find it helpful to speak with a therapist about identity, belonging, racism, cultural disconnection, or feeling pressure to “choose” one part of your background over another. A therapist who understands or shares your mixed race identity may be better able to support conversations about your experiences. A shared background may also strengthen the therapeutic alliance, which refers to the working relationship between you and your therapist and is tied to positive therapy outcomes.

How can a mixed race therapist support couples counseling or family therapy?
Like other therapists, mixed race therapists can support couples and families with a broad range of concerns, including communication challenges, conflict, parenting, life transitions, and relationship stress. However, therapists who personally identify as mixed race may be especially helpful when race, culture, or ethnicity are part of the concerns being discussed, such as when partners come from different cultural backgrounds and are navigating differing personal or community expectations. A mixed race therapist may also help couples and families explore how identity shapes each person’s experience in the relationship. Family members, for instance, may not experience race or culture in the same way, even within the same household. Therapy can offer a space to talk through these differences.

How might I inquire about a therapist's experience working with mixed race or multiracial clients?
The initial consultation, which is typically a brief phone or video call, can be a good time to ask about a therapist’s experience working with multiracial clients. You can ask specific questions, such as “Do you have experience working with multiracial clients?” or broader questions, such as “How do you approach cultural identity in your practice?” As sessions begin, it can be helpful to notice how the therapist responds to your concerns. A good therapist should respond with respect, curiosity, and cultural humility. If you feel dismissed or misunderstood, or if you find yourself having to explain your beliefs or cultural context constantly, it may be worth considering another therapist.

Who is included in Psychology Today's directory of mixed race therapists?
The directory of mixed race therapists includes therapists who have shared their mixed race or multiracial identity in their profiles, as well as therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with mixed race clients, regardless of their own background. Not all therapists choose to disclose this information on their profile, and these individuals may not appear in search results for this reason.
