I have specialized training in women’s mental health - pregnancy, postpartum, reproductive challenges/infertility, hormonal shifts, identity, body image, and the emotional transitions that often accompany these shifts in life.
I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore the parts of ourselves that have been carrying pain, self-doubt, or unmet needs. I blend modalities such as IFS, EFT, CFT, Psychodynamic and Somatic Therapy. Together we build tools to support you and develop greater clarity about your needs and values.

We specialize in perinatal therapy (support for MOMS!), EMDR and children/youth therapy.
Desert Insight is a group of licensed clinicians who speak English, Spanish & Spanglish! If you don't know where to start, or words to describe what you feel, we know that seeking help can feel scary, especially if no one in your circle "goes to therapy". Please know you're not alone - we are here to help. We work with our clients to identify how past experiences and current mindsets may be affecting relationships, jobs, health and overall quality of life. This includes 'talk therapy' and also EMDR which is different from regular therapy but it can be especially helpful for trauma, phobias, addiction, depression and anxiety.

Have you been feeling stuck or limited? Do you believe that you will never feel loved or appreciated? Do you feel that no matter what you do the outcomes are always the same? Or no matter how hard you try you will never be good enough and fail? Well it is not a coincidence. We create negative beliefs and meanings (from our childhood) about ourselves to create these issues. Have you ever said to yourself over and over again "I'll never find love?" or "I'll probably fail" Well, they are not true, but you made it your reality through habitual ways of thinking, feeling, and acting.

I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety related to infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting transitions.
You’re the one who keeps the house running, remembers the schedules, and manages everyone’s emotions. From the outside, you have it all together. But internally, you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and feel like your nervous system never turns off. You love your family deeply, but the "invisible load" of parenting, work, and life has left you running on empty. You want to stop reacting in ways you regret and start feeling like yourself again. You’re looking for more than "self-care" tips; you want to understand why you feel so stuck in survival mode and how to finally find a sense of true internal calm.

While I specialize in couples therapy, I also have worked in spirituality, grief and loss, religious trauma and spiritual abuse, narcissistic abuse and recovery, and perinatal mental health.
I help couples who have spent years aching beside each other — loving each other, hurting each other, missing each other — find their way back to softness, truth, safety, and the kind of connection where neither person has to disappear to be loved. You may be standing at a crossroads where you or your partner are quietly asking: “Can this relationship still become emotionally safe enough for me to stay in it long term without losing myself?” If you have deep attachment, shared history, and genuine love, but also accumulated hurt, betrayal, disconnection, resentment, and conflict, please call. There is a path forward.

You may appear put-together on the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from who you want to be. Perhaps you’ve been carrying the weight of past trauma, trying to navigate life while silently struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or lingering pain that doesn’t go away. It’s frustrating to feel like you’re doing everything “right” but still not feeling okay. As a therapist with an MSC from the University of Phoenix (2013), I help clients explore these inner experiences with care and honesty—because healing begins when we stop pretending we're fine.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
