There are times in our life when difficulties lead to thoughts and feelings within us that we are uncomfortable with. Ignoring those feelings doesn’t make them go away and often leave us frustrated and feeling stuck. Seeking counseling is a helpful way to find relief and healing when struggling with mental and emotional suffering, relationship conflicts, daily stress, and unhealthy behavior patterns.
My background includes supporting clients in schools, homes, clinics, and correctional facilities. My practice also includes providing therapy to students, law enforcement, teachers, first responders, and medical personnel.

Therapy is the safest of environments to bring up topics that have brought about great pain or arrest in one’s life. My hope for you is that therapy becomes a useful tool to transform your life into how you envision it to be. Life is too short not to be lived out to its fullest potential. By working with you, I hope to collaborate in a transformation process where life goals come to fruition.

Life is difficult, and the goal is not to live an easy problem-free life, but to learn to face the adversities of life and engage with it. Often when we get overwhelmed we either try to avoid our problems, overthink them, or just simply feel stuck. It can be so frustrating when we have dreams and desires, but feel hijacked by our emotions, have trouble focusing, or find ourselves in repetitive patterns that no longer serve us.

Mental health challenges are due to the aftereffects of traumatic experiences. Trauma can place a strain on your family, work, relationships, and even cause issues with self-worth. I specialize in trauma therapy along with treating personality disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and addiction. All these disorders can look different from person to person, and that is where our therapeutic journey of empowerment and self-exploration begins. I concentrate on creating a safe space of growth and self-discovery through unconditional positive regard, emotional regulation, and guided activities.

Great to meet you!
When you sit down with me, you can expect a space that feels grounded, honest, and real. I care deeply about the work we do, and I don’t believe in surface-level therapy. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you slow down enough to understand what’s really driving your patterns. I’m not here to judge you or to “fix” you — I’m here to help you make sense of your experiences and move toward change that actually feels sustainable.
I tend to work well with people who are thoughtful and self-aware but feel stuck; especially in relationships, with boundaries, with grief, or with coping patterns.

I work with women exploring sexuality, intimacy, identity, and relationships. Many of my clients are navigating low desire, shame around sex, internalized homophobia, difficulty communicating needs, or feeling disconnected from themselves or their partner(s). I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients, therapists/healers, and people questioning what they were taught about sex, gender, and desire.

I offer weekly psychoanalytic individual and couples' therapy.
People often come to therapy when there is a gap between their desired lives and their current reality. My hope is to work collaboratively with you to explore what might be getting in your way. I aim to create an open, gentle, and nonjudgmental space where people can speak freely about their thoughts, dreams, and feelings. I believe that in understanding and accepting your emotional world more deeply, people can ultimately make decisions from an increasingly unrestricted place.

Carl Jung said: “It is what you are that heals, not what you know”. The journey of self-discovery is exactly that – getting to know and deeply appreciate your true and authentic self, even when that essence may be covered by trauma, hardship or suffering. It is this uncovering that many who experience psychotherapy to be transformative and healing refer to as a “re-birth”, a coming home to and an unfolding of who you truly are. Engaging in the process of self-inquiry can be a rewarding and even a life-changing experience, especially in the presence of an empathic and compassionate other.

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.
How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.
Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.
Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
