I also work with teens and young adults, guiding them as they struggle with individuation from parents and peers and supporting their development of self-confidence and esteem.
As a Jungian Analyst, I hold deep respect and trust in the guidance from the psyche. The unconscious wants our attention and when we ignore the unconscious, it causes problems that show up as symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction. When we give the unconscious our attention we are rewarded— symptoms subside and we have access to new energy.

If you want to learn positive parenting skills, teach the value of self-esteem, or identify behaviors and maladapted attachments, all of this is talk-able and worthy of investing your time and energy.
As an EMDR-certified therapist, I help clients heal from distressing experiences that feel “stuck” in the nervous system. EMDR gently addresses trauma, anxiety, and negative beliefs without reliving the past, supporting relief, confidence, and a renewed sense of safety and clarity.

I work with children (and their parents) navigating grief, ADHD, shame, and the unique emotional experiences that can come with giftedness, including twice- and thrice-exceptionality.
Sound familiar? It feels like you’ve tried everything to manage your child’s challenging behaviors and nothing is working. You want to support your child’s self esteem, interpersonal skills, or ability to thrive in their academic environment. You and your child have experienced the loss of a loved one. You struggle to understand how your childhood impacts patterns in your current relationships and how you view yourself and others. If any of those statements resonate, you have come to the right place.

I use play therapy and other evidence-based approaches while working closely with parents.
Whether you’re looking for support for yourself or your child, I believe therapy should be a place where you can slow down, feel comfortable, and be yourself. I aim to create a calm, welcoming space where we can make sense of what’s going on, talk honestly about what’s been difficult, and find ways to move forward together. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, and emotional stress.

Together, we'll navigate anxiety, trauma, pregnancy, and parenting challenges, helping you grow and reconnect with yourself and your child.
Lately, you’ve been reacting in ways that don’t feel like you. You're snapping faster, overthinking everything, struggling to relax even when you get a moment. You keep telling yourself you should be able to handle this, but something feels off. Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, or deep in motherhood, things feel louder, harder, and more constant than they used to. You’re still showing up, but quietly wondering, "what is happening to me?" It's exhausting trying to keep up appearances when you feel this way inside. I help moms in this exact place slow things down, make sense of what’s underneath, and start feeling steady again.

I have over 20 years of experience in helping individuals, couples and families move through the anger, hurt and fear often associated with difficult life transitions. I believe that while we cannot directly change events that happen in our lives, most of us can learn to change our perceptions about these issues.

Life is complex and it's often hard to handle the situations that come up each day or resurface over longer periods of time. Whether figuring out what to do about challenging children, issues in a close relationship, or which way to go as you move forward in life, uncertainties can stop anyone in their tracks. Few things are worse than feeling stuck and struggling when it seems like everyone else has it all figured out. It doesn't have to be that way. Things change, if we're watching we find opportunities to heal, learn, and grow.

Childhood and parenting can be tremendously challenging, and you do not need to figure out all of the pieces alone.
I see play as the language of children, and as a portal for healing in childhood. Our sessions together will involve play, art and creative expression, and finding ways to name and hold a variety of emotions so that they can be honored without overwhelming your child or adolescent. I will help them learn to regulate emotions and regain a sense of balance.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
