Helping Children Adjust to the changes in life. Confident and Understood Children make well-adjusted adults. Is your child struggling with anxiety, frequent meltdowns, sadness, school stress, difficulty making friends, or behaviors that are hard to understand or redirect? Perhaps your child comes to you with worries, becomes overwhelmed by transitions, withdraws from the family, or has difficulty expressing what is happening inside. When a child is struggling, the entire family can feel the impact. Parents may find themselves wondering whether they are doing enough or how they can help without making things worse.

Welcome — I’m glad you're here. Many of my clients have tried talk therapy and gained valuable insight, yet still find themselves repeating patterns that hurt. They may overthink, over-function, people-please, shut down, or feel anxious in relationships. Insight is an important part of healing, but insight alone cannot rewire a dysregulated nervous system or heal a wounded heart.

Do you feel disconnected from yourself? Have adult ADHD and/or childhood trauma? I take an integrative, relational, and strength-based approach to healing - attending to the mind, body, and spirit. I believe that humans are inherently resilient, and what may have worked to help you cope in the past may not be working for you in the present. This can show up as isolating from others, internalizing other people's behavior as your fault, scanning for threats, addictions, risk-taking, overworking, perfectionism, etc. I want to help you rediscover your strengths and deepen your sense of hope so you can lead a more vital, exuberant life.

You may be someone others rely on—showing up, staying strong, and holding a lot—but internally feeling anxious, disconnected, or not quite yourself. I work with adults and teens in San Diego navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many are high-functioning and insightful, yet feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we slow things down, build awareness, and create space for meaningful, lasting change. I offer an affirming, inclusive space for clients of all identities. Here, you are welcome as you are.

When we start working together, we’ll take time to really understand what’s been weighing on you, what keeps getting in the way and what you’re hoping for in your life. From there, we’ll create a plan that feels clear, doable and genuinely supportive. I pay close attention to the survival strategies you’ve built over time—often ones that once protected you but now feel limiting—and we’ll work together to gently shift the patterns that no longer serve you. My approach is relational, warm and grounded in trauma-informed and somatic work. So instead of staying only in conversation, we’ll slow down and notice what’s happening inside

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), I focus on helping you develop practical tools for emotional balance, self-understanding, & resilience.
It can be overwhelming when anxiety, postpartum struggles, or major life changes leave you feeling unsteady and unsure of yourself. Even if everything looks “okay” on the outside, inside you might feel isolated, exhausted, or stuck between who you’ve been and who you want to become. My personal and professional experiences have played a pivotal role in motivating me to pursue a career as a mental health clinician. Witnessing the challenges faced by others, along with my own journey of self-discovery, ignited a deep desire to help people navigate their emotional and mental health struggles.

Do you find yourself holding everything together, striving to do things “right,” or wondering if you're ever good enough? Maybe you're navigating a major life transition, a new relationship, career change, or uncertainty about what comes next. You may find it difficult to slow down, understand what you're feeling, or communicate your emotions and needs in relationships. You want a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you make sense of yourself and what you truly need.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
