My clinical interests include adolescents and young adults, postpartum and maternal mental health, early parenthood, identity development, emotional overwhelm, trauma, and relationship challenges.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you are navigating major transitions, relationship changes, identity shifts, parenthood, emotional burnout, trauma, or the pressure of trying to hold everything together. I believe counseling should support the whole person, not just isolated symptoms or problems. Many of the clients I work with are looking for a space where they can feel emotionally safe, understood, and supported through the different seasons of life.

Seeking out support for yourself or for your child is a courageous act, and one that is full of hope. Childhood and parenting can be tremendously challenging, and you do not need to figure out all of the pieces alone. I would be honored to work alongside you, providing a safe environment to share your story, gently face and move through challenges, and develop solutions that will bring you and your child relief and allow you both to thrive.

You came into a committed partnership knowing there would be peaks and valleys. You shared your dreams about the future together, creating a roadmap. You talked about whether or not you'd have children. You witnessed the differences between your family's of origin and wondered if it would get in the way of your togetherness. You shared some of your past and the wounds you might be carrying. Here you are, years into your partnership feeling disconnected, resentful, struggling with intimacy, and wondering if you will find a deep connection with one another again. What happened to the loving relationship you once had?

I see you. I work with parents and caregivers navigating chronic medical needs, diagnoses, school challenges, caregiving stress, relationship strain, and emotional overwhelm. Together, we create space to process difficult emotions, reduce burnout, strengthen relationships, and find support through life’s challenges.

Feeling overwhelmed, on edge, or emotionally stuck can make even the simplest tasks feel exhausting. You might be constantly bracing for something bad to happen, replaying painful memories, or feeling detached from yourself or those around you. I help clients recognize that these patterns—though painful—are often the result of remarkable resilience in the face of past trauma. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Lady of the Lake University (2019), and my approach reframes these so-called “symptoms” as survival strategies that once protected you but now interfere with the life you want to lead.

Life is relationship. Most people come to therapy because something in their relationships no longer feels the way they want it to. You may feel misunderstood by your partner, disconnected from your family, overwhelmed by work, or simply alone. You may long for more harmony, greater peace, or a deeper sense of connection. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to work through it alone. Together, we can explore what's getting in the way and help you move toward a life that feels more satisfying, connected, and true to who you are.

Do you feel out of sorts, weighed down, stressed by everyday life or by some specific issues that you don't seem to be able to resolve? I can help you identify what is getting in your way and preventing you from fulfilling your aspirations and reaching your goals. I'll help you focus on the alterations needed so your life becomes happy, serene and exciting. It is often how we think that prevents us from finding solutions. Talking things out with an empathic other helps, and friends do. But they often project themselves into your situation and give you advice from THEIR perspective . A good therapist sees things through YOUR eyes.

You may feel heavy, tense, restless, or as if you’ve been carrying everything inside for far too long, bracing against a world that feels unpredictable or unsafe. Effort, thought, or explanation may no longer reach the place that aches. I work in a quiet, body-based, and collaborative way that meets suffering where it lives—beneath words, in the nervous system itself. Therapy isn’t about fixing you; it’s about coming home to yourself. Over time, safety returns, agency rebuilds, and as you create well-being from within, the world begins to meet you differently—you feel included, connected, and fully at home in life rather than apart

I help moms of neurodivergent kids learn to stay steady through the meltdowns, trust they're doing enough and start feeling like themselves again. Does life feel like you're just surviving each day? Getting out the door takes it out of you. Juggling the emails to school and providers in between your own work meetings. The explaining to family and friends who just don’t quite get it is exhausting. Somewhere in the middle of all of this, your own needs faded into the background and it’s getting harder to recognize yourself. You need support, but you don’t know how to get it when your child needs you so much. I got you.

I am happy to work with anyone who is seeking some support in facing the normal vicissitudes of life. Not everything has to be a major trauma. Sometimes life is challenging and simple non-biased support is helpful. Other times a major event occurs and it is emotionally devastating. I truly believe that another human being walking with you in that time is crucial to healing. Your needs are what matter to me. I would be honored to accompany you on the path to a more peaceful life.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
