I'm a somatic therapist who specializes in EMDR. The thing that sparks the most joy for me as a therapist is being the catalyst for positive change. A guide to help individuals find peace within themselves. I love being able to shed light on shadows that might have been overlooked, helping individuals and couples make permanent changes in order for them to reach their full potential, and live their best life. I believe that through our own introspection and deep work we can unlock a world of opportunities.

I utilize Internal Family Systems in conjunction with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
If you've found yourself wondering, "Is this really all there is? Is this the life I imagined?" you're not alone. People describe coming to my office as feeling like a huge exhale to the heaviness of your week where time can slow down and you can redefine how you take care of yourself.

Working through difficult experiences and emotions can be challenging. It can be even harder to make desired changes in ones life when certain patterns have been established for so long. I work hard to ensure that my clients feel safe and supported throughout this process. By creating a comfortable and lighthearted environment, individuals, families, and couples are able to gain some reprieve from the difficulties they are experiencing. This allows change to begin to occur in the lives of my clients.

I use evidence based approaches (EFT, DBT, IFS, and Psychodynamic) from a relational, developmental, and attachment-based perspective.
I believe symptoms are often the body’s way of communicating with us. Learning to recognize our symptoms as messages to listen to, we start making sense of the chaos, and feel less out of control. I’m committed to helping you get that kind of relief and clarity, so that it becomes easier to explore the roots of what gets you stuck. The therapy I offer is experiential and relational, providing the context to name what needs to heal, process what's overwhelming, build psychological skills and confidence, grow in compassion, strengthen relationships, and find a path forward with greater freedom, meaning, and hope.

I implement evidence based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT and ACT.
Within the safety of a therapeutic relationship healing and change can occur. With a compassionate and caring therapist this process can unfold. It's possible to become the person you desire to be. Even with a good set of change making skills we can feel stuck and unable to access a pattern that worked before or create a new pattern. In therapy you can clarify what is keeping you stuck and change from within. Relationships with self and others can improve as a result of the therapeutic process.

In my experience, most people have a much higher threshold for difficult truths than they give themselves credit for. I'd gently state that I'm more interested in what you're capable of as opposed to what feels comfortable to discuss. I am analytical, direct, but also sensitive, and the work I do draws from deep psychoanalytic thinking as much as it does from practical approaches (i.e. solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy). My practice is informed by multiple domains such as personality theory, neuroscience, spirituality, science, philosophy, and the arts (i.e. music production, painting, writing).

Narcissistic abuse can leave you feeling confused, depleted, and questioning your own reality. Whether it happens in a romantic relationship, within your family, or at work, the emotional damage often accumulates before you even recognize the patterns. You may have spent years seeking approval from a boss who keeps shifting expectations, a parent who withholds love, or a partner who painted a perfect picture only to later reveal toxic and manipulative behaviors. I prioritize privacy & integrity in my practice, so l don't use Al or collaborate with tech co therapy platforms funded by venture capital.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
