Hey there! Deciding to start the journey of therapy is something people come to for so many reasons. To heal trauma. To grieve. To vent. To find the way through a huge life transition. To discover who they are. To learn better ways to cope. To find a way to become un-stuck when things just aren’t working. It is about sitting through feelings in a safe space where you can develop new patterns and experience emotional wellness and healing. I practice from a variety of theoretical frameworks, drawing on aspects of Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches through a trauma-informed lens.

We are perfectly imperfect beings wholly deserving of authentic and meaningful lives. For many of us, we strive to feel heard, be seen, and accepted for who we are. Being disconnected from our truth can lead to feelings of loneliness, hopelessness, and helplessness. Through the many seasons of our lives, we are met with unforeseen challenges that impact our ability to navigate life easefully. Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of immense strength. When we feel lost or unsure of what to do next, inviting an empathic other on our journey can be a life changing experience.

You’re a high-achieving professional who looks confident and capable on the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or close to burnout. You may struggle with anxiety, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, or chronic stress — even though you’re successful and respected in your field. You spend your time supporting others while quietly running on empty. You know something needs to change. You want to feel authentic, balanced, and grounded — not just productive. You want a realistic work-life balance you can maintain. You want to reconnect with what matters to you and stop living in survival mode.

You thought becoming a parent or trying to become one would feel different. Instead, you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way. Maybe you're constantly worrying, struggling after a difficult birth, grieving infertility or pregnancy loss, or simply trying to hold everything together while feeling like you're falling apart inside. You don't have to keep carrying it alone.

You appear successful, thriving in your career, handling life’s demands, but inside, you feel disconnected and drained. People-pleasing, difficulty saying no, and putting others first have left you overwhelmed. Old patterns from childhood still shape your relationships. You long to feel aligned, confident, and free: able to speak your truth, set boundaries with ease, & live with purpose. You want your life to feel as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.

If you’ve found your way here, you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or disconnected from who you are and how you want to live your life. Perhaps your child is withdrawing, acting out, or struggling to trust. Maybe you’re an adult who loses themselves in relationships, looks to others to feel okay, or has lost touch with who you really are. You may be navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, or a major life transition and wondering how you ended up here. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and begin finding your way back to yourself.

Many individuals seeking therapy often feel overwhelmed by life's challenges, whether it's dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or a sense of being "stuck." My ideal clients are people who are ready to create change but feel uncertain about how to move forward. They seek a compassionate, non-judgmental space where they can explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in order to better understand themselves and regain control over their lives. Their goals are typically to gain clarity, heal from past experiences, and develop coping strategies that lead to emotional well-being and resilience.

Healing and change are possible, even when it feels like nothing works. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of who they are becoming. Some are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, or past relational pain—including dysfunctional relationship patterns—while others are moving through life and women’s transitions, parenting, and shifting roles that can bring exhaustion, guilt, or a sense of losing oneself. You want to feel understood, regain clarity, and reconnect with what truly matters—without trying to “fix” yourself.

Together, we can create a path toward healing and growth, where you feel supported and empowered every step of the way. Many of my clients come to me when traditional talk therapy has not been as effective as they hoped. They are looking for profound healing and recognize the need for an embodied approach to address the root of their pain. My clients often come to me feeling lost, disconnected from their bodies, their loved ones, and the world around them, or feeling overwhelmed by the ever-growing demands of life. They often feel a readiness for transformation, a longing for meaningful connection, and hope of finding inner peace.

I have specialized training in EMDR therapy to help clients process trauma and difficult life experiences, as well as Somatic Therapy techniques to support nervous system regulation and the mind-body connection. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, infertility, chronic illness, grief, depression, relationship issues and life transitions. Losing my brother at a young age, navigating infertility, and living with a complex chronic illness have shaped the way I show up as a therapist — with compassion, humility, and a genuine understanding that healing is rarely linear.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
