A mentor once told me, "We can't negotiate the terms of our own surrender," and that has framed my approach toward acceptance and healing as we live life on life's terms. Sometimes we need to take a step back to reflect on a new way to approach situations when "our way" seems to be getting in our way. I invite you to bring awareness to what brought you to this page and if the above message resonates, let's chat.

Does this sound like you? You’ve spent years feeling “too much,” too sensitive, too disorganized, too reactive, or like everyday life takes more effort for you than everyone else. Maybe you were labeled lazy, careless, scattered, or difficult growing up, when in reality, your ADHD went unseen and unsupported. Now as an adult, you find yourself stuck in cycles of burnout, people-pleasing, numbing, perfectionism, or intense reactions in relationships. You may have recently been diagnosed with ADHD, suspect you have it, or are only now realizing how much growing up misunderstood affected your nervous system and sense of self.

Are you looking for a therapist who will not only listen, but also speaks truthfully and offers clear, constructive feedback? Someone who actively engages rather than quietly observes? For over 25 years as a licensed psychologist, I've helped men who are "killing it" in business but are quietly failing at home. If you're feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or hearing from your partner that something needs to change, this is a space to start doing the deeper work. I also work with women coping with the impact of emotionally unavailable or narcissistic men.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Brain Spotting, and Psychodynamic techniques.
I am a very empathic and supportive person and can work well with clients because they know I am real, and I will work with them to find a technique that works best for them to achieve their interpersonal goals. I know that people have inner thoughts that they think others will not understand. We will together make sense of them.

I am informed by and weave together psychodynamic therapy, narrative work, and EMDR to honor your story, your neurotype, and the patterns that shape your life.
Motherhood changes you, body, mind, and spirit, and somewhere between the joy and the exhaustion, you might be wondering who you are now. If pregnancy or postpartum has felt heavier than you expected, you deserve support that honors all of it, not just a checklist of symptoms. I work with moms and birthing parents, women who are pregnant, newly postpartum, or navigating the identity shifts that come with motherhood. Many of my clients are also neurodivergent (Autistic/ADHD), often late-diagnosed or just beginning to wonder if that's part of their story.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
