We are perfectly imperfect beings wholly deserving of authentic and meaningful lives. For many of us, we strive to feel heard, be seen, and accepted for who we are. Being disconnected from our truth can lead to feelings of loneliness, hopelessness, and helplessness. Through the many seasons of our lives, we are met with unforeseen challenges that impact our ability to navigate life easefully. Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of immense strength. When we feel lost or unsure of what to do next, inviting an empathic other on our journey can be a life changing experience.

So you’ve known for a while that you needed to talk to a therapist, but you’re not sure who will actually get you. Glad you found me. Maybe you’ve held it together so well that even you started believing your struggles weren’t “that bad.” You’ve learned to go it alone, carry all the responsibility, and push through. For a while, it worked: you checked the boxes, hit the milestones, got the bag. But now you’re exhausted, overthinking, and wondering why a life that looks fine on paper still feels so hard and empty.

Are you struggling to get through the day? Are you afraid that you will never feel "normal" again? Does your teenager seem edgy, worried, withdrawn or isolated? Do they spend hours scrolling online or playing video games alone, neglecting real-life relationships and responsibilities? I work with high-schoolers and adults who feel lonely, sad, worried, pressured, sleepless, exhausted and inadequate. I help patients identify underlying mental health and neurological conditions that may be contributing to these feelings; address negative patterns of behavior and learn powerful new coping skills to navigate life's challenges.

Your life was intended to be lived with bold laughter, lasting and accepting love, and intentional significance. This is often hard to attain through our efforts alone. We may drift off course or abandon it altogether when we don’t have the resources to maintain our own goals. The first step to change your direction is usually the most difficult, but most important. I’m here to help you with your first steps and help you get to where you want to be in your relationships or your life in general.

Whether you’re navigating daily challenges, life transitions, or personal growth, my goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and equipped with strategies that work for you.
My ideal client is ambitious, capable, and ready for more, but feels stuck between where they are and where they know they could be. They’re juggling too many priorities, second-guessing key decisions, and frustrated by inconsistent results. They don’t lack intelligence or drive; they lack clarity, structure, and a focused path forward. They want momentum, confidence, and a strategy that actually works. They want to feel in control.

I have experienced the complexities of family relationships, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, phase of life changes, work-related issues, motivation, self-esteem, adjustment disorders, and of course persistent diagnoses as well such as depression. I am compassionate about how we experience the world as an individual and as a collective. I am a person-centered therapist who uses an integrated approach to therapy. Even though I pull knowledge from all theories and practices, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused-Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Mindfulness Practices and some Family Systems Therapy.

I support individuals who are navigating loss, major life transitions, feelings of stuckness, or a longing for deeper meaning and purpose.
I believe each person’s life path is unique, and we all face times that challenge us and call our attention to what needs care or change. When familiar patterns stop working or life feels unsatisfying, therapy offers a space to sort through what is happening and get clarity about how to move forward. With a background in holistic studies, my approach is integrative, centered on mind‑body awareness and the practice of slowing down to listen inward. Together, we pay attention to what is emerging, including your emotions, your patterns, and your strengths, creating room for insight and meaningful change.

Many individuals go through difficult periods where one may feel alone, burnt-out, or stuck. Maybe you’re trying to figure what you want, dealing with a change, or maybe you're the first one in your family or friend group to go down a different path. Navigating all of this on your own can be so hard. It's in therapy where you can have an opportunity to find meaning, to build stronger connections with others, and to find new ways of relating to yourself when old patterns no longer work.

FAQ - Life Transitions Counseling
What counts as a life transition?
A life transition is any change in life circumstances that requires a person to adapt, whether in their relationships, identity, responsibilities, or daily routine. Major life transitions may include getting married, starting a new career, becoming a parent, navigating the loss of a close loved one, retiring, experiencing a major change in health, or moving to a new area. Life transitions can also be smaller or more gradual, such as graduating to a new school, recovering from an injury, taking on more responsibility at work, or adjusting to a new phase of life. Both major and minor transitions can affect mental health, especially when they involve uncertainty, stress, grief, or changes in how a person sees themselves.

How do I know if I need therapy for a life transition?
Life transitions can bring up a wide range of emotions, and it is normal for someone to feel anxious, confused, stressed, sad, or emotionally unsteady. These reactions may be especially common in the weeks or months following a major change. However, if these feelings begin to interfere with daily life, relationships, sleep, work, or a person’s ability to care for themselves, it may be worth seeking support. A person does not need to wait until symptoms feel severe to ask for help; in fact, many people seek therapy proactively to prepare for a major life transition. For example, couples may see a therapist ahead of expecting their first child as a way to strengthen their relationship prior to becoming parents.

How can therapy help with life transitions?
Therapy can help you cope with both expected and unexpected life transitions by providing a space to process how a change is affecting your life, relationships, identity, or emotional well-being. For example, someone who has recently become a parent may use therapy to talk through changes in their identity, stress in their relationship, or feelings of overwhelm. A therapist can also help you make sense of what you are feeling, identify the root causes of stress, and develop coping strategies for managing the uncertainty that can come from major life changes.

What therapeutic approaches work best for life transitions?
The best therapeutic approach depends on what you are struggling with most. If intrusive thoughts or anxiety are the main concern, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help people identify painful thought patterns and develop coping strategies to manage them. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help people make space for painful emotions and accepting their circumstances while reconnecting with their values. For those navigating major relationship changes, couples or family counseling may be a good option. Lastly, for someone navigating career-related concerns, career counselors or coaches may be a good option. When considering what type of therapy may be best, consider the logistical components. For instance, CBT is often limited to a specified number of sessions, whereas more traditional talk therapy approaches can go on for years. In addition, consider whether you will be seeking online or in-person therapy; if you are in the process of moving or seeking a therapist for support around a topic that is not available in your immediate area, online therapy may be a good fit.

How do I find a therapist for life transition counseling?
The Psychology Today Therapist Directory allows people to search for therapists who specialize in life transitions. Use the “Specialties” filter and select “Life transitions” to find therapists who have indicated experience in life transitions. You may also select filters related to a specific transition, such as career counseling, divorce, grief, premarital counseling, or parenting. When comparing options, it is helpful to look for therapists whose profiles specifically mention experience with life transitions or specific types of transitions. Practical factors such as insurance, location, and online or in-person availability are also important. Once you have identified a few therapists who seem like a good fit, reach out to schedule an initial consultation.
