Immediate openings for Neurofeedback. We as people are are all broken on some level, but we don't need to stay that way. Depending upon the cards we've been dealt in life (what's been done to us, and what we've done to ourselves) fractures in our world view, relationships, and self concept arise. I work best with a client who comes willingly to counseling, is motivated for change, and is open minded to new perspectives of responding to their problems. Many clients comment on the speed with which we are able to resolve their individual concerns.

I am a relational therapist and have experience working with
trauma
, depression, anxiety, substance misuse and personality disorders.
My ideal client takes many different forms but they are all individualized. My client is suffering and I see it as my role to reduce human suffering so that it is no longer unbearable. I provide both short term (goal oriented), and long term (perhaps, more Existential and Gestalt based) therapy. I'm not going to change your personality, why would I? That makes you the unique individual that you are. However, my goal is to adjust and provide strategies for harmful behaviors that cause suffering and an inability to live in peace with others.

You'll find that I'm not your typical patches-on-the-sleeves, "tell me about your mother" style therapist. After a career as a first responder, I have come in contact with a great many mental health challenges. My clients will find I am very empathetic while at the same time no-nonsense and to the point. Together, we'll explore what your challenges have been historically and find new ways to approach the life (and ultimately, happiness) for which you're looking.

One of the most important lessons I have learned as a therapist is that therapy requires more than a one size fits all approach. I treat every person as an individual. I have treated individuals with a variety of issues, including

ImTT is a breakthrough in the treatment of
Trauma
, OCD, Depression, Anxiety, Behavioral and Substance Addictions.
I am passionate about therapy that produces lasting, inner healing! I use a combination of several psychological theories, depending on what will best meet my client's needs, including ImTT and EMDR, to help clients experience healing and change in the places where their pain originated. This not only creates symptom reduction and/or extinction but also produces an outcome of inner peace, joy and freedom, putting an end to trying harder, pretending or "white-knuckling" through. I love this work and look forward to connecting with you in your journey toward emotional wholeness!

Now scheduling immediate telehealth appointments… If you've never had therapy before, you may be imagining a stuffy, silent person listening to you talk about really deep issues and trying to withhold judgement. I want to be the therapist to change that for you. My interactive, laid-back, upfront style helps my clients feel at ease and ready to attack their issues naturally. Think of my office as a private place for you to go to get comfortable and discuss anything you want, while I use various techniques to help you to reach your personal goals. You can leave each week feeling renewed and accepted.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
