I use a rapid results oriented therapy approach to help you reach your goals as soon as possible. This means only months instead of years in therapy. You will find me open, honest, direct and clear using techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Ericksonion Hypnosis, Depth, Mindfulness, and Communication therapies. I am naturally a warm, caring, and nonjudgmental person with a sense of humor. Sometimes we just need a little help figuring things out.

We often lead busy lives and give low priority to self-care and stress management. As such, we allow depression, anxiety, traumas, dysfunctional relationships, and/or addictions to impact us. Many issues can be avoided by checking in with how you think and feel, by resolving past traumas, and by developing new skills in dealing with life. Together, we will work to reconcile with memories, resolve traumas, and set meaningful goals for the future. We will work on improving relationships, addressing hurdles, and exploring new possibilities. You will discover your strength, uncover your courage and values, and find your voice.

Using somatic therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation, I help clients calm stress, reconnect with their bodies, process emotions, and build greater balance, resilience, and presence in daily life.
My approach involves exploring how stress, emotions, and body tension contribute to an individual’s symptoms and coping patterns. We collaborate with both protective and wounded parts, establish safety, and develop healthier responses to stress through gentle somatic and parts-informed approaches.

We all know that the majority of dieters inevitably gain back all the weight they’ve lost and more. Emotional eating is a coping mechanism, a survival tactic. This self soothing technique is learned early in life to numb uncomfortable feelings. Dieting focuses on the external rather than the internal cues which fuel overeating. The repetitive cycle of gaining and losing weight leads to feelings of hopelessness, shame, failure, and desperation. In order to shift dysfunctional eating patterns, one must identify underlying experiences and belief systems that perpetuate emotional eating.

Has your relationship changed — and not for the better? You may feel more like roommates than partners, stuck in disconnection, resentment, or silence. Maybe you’re facing infidelity, stress, grief, or a major life transition that's pulled you apart. You're not alone — and it doesn't have to stay this way. In therapy, we’ll work together to rebuild trust, improve communication, and help you feel seen, heard, and supported by each other again. My goal is to help couples reconnect, heal, and create the kind of relationship they long for — one filled with intimacy, understanding, and renewed hope.

I believe that people come to me with something that they've been struggling with and they can't see the solution because they're in the middle of it. They get "stuck" in a story that defines them or something about them and they need help moving beyond that. I am very practical in the work that I do - I believe that therapy should address the issue(s) that has you "stuck" and you need to learn how to move forward; we all need to live and function in this world and we want to be happy!

NEWS: Yes, you can do EMDR from your phone. Contact me for a free consult. People I see include those who want to restore resilience and love in their relationship; people who need to get a teen or adult child to be constructive and respectful; people who are reacting to people or situations in a way that is not in line with their values (my de-triggering approach that includes EMDR is important for this) because of trauma or other things; people who want a body-mind approach to chronic pain; those who have depression that traditional methods are not helping well enough.

HypnoTherapy
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy works by using guided hypnosis to help you reach a state of focus and concentration through mental imagery and soothing verbal repetition. The state is somewhat like being absorbed in a book, a movie, or your own thoughts. You are not under a therapist’s “control,” but they can help you relax and turn your attention inward to discover the resources to achieve behavior change or better manage psychological concerns. Therapy sessions may involve guiding you through recognizing a problem, releasing problematic thoughts about it, and considering and accepting more productive alternatives before returning to normal awareness. Hypnotherapy is typically used by a therapist along with traditional forms of talk therapy. Eventually, your therapist can help you learn hypnotherapy techniques yourself so you can establish a stronger sense of control on your own in stressful or challenging moments.

Is hypnotherapy the same as hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy, which is sometimes called hypnotic suggestion, is a therapeutic technique in which a therapist uses hypnosis to help patients. It is not the kind of hypnosis portrayed in stage shows, or in movies or on television. You will not be unconscious or asleep during hypnotherapy, you will not lose control of yourself, your thoughts, or your free will, and you will be able to fully recall your experience. And while you will hear your therapist’s suggestions, it is always up to you to decide whether to act on them. Hypnosis by a trained mental-health professional is not a form of mind control, which is impossible to achieve anyway.

Can everyone be hypnotized?
The most common challenge of hypnotherapy is that as many as one in four people cannot be hypnotized. Brain imaging has confirmed differences in patterns of brain connectivity between those who respond to hypnotism and those who do not. Other people who could potentially be hypnotized may not respond to the technique because of their skepticism or resistance to entering a hypnotic state. If a therapist’s “post-hypnotic suggestion” is effective, it’s because they are suggesting something you want to achieve.

Does hypnotherapy work?
Through hypnotherapy, you can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. Like other talk therapy techniques, when hypnotherapy succeeds, it’s a case of mind over matter. Effective hypnotherapy involves self-healing because you access resources you need to change inside of yourself and learn how to tap into them whenever you need. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective therapy for anxiety, phobias, stress, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual dysfunction, and undesirable behaviors like smoking. It can be used to help improve sleep or to address relationship challenges, and to aid with pain management, digestive disorders, skin conditions, and the gastrointestinal side effects of pregnancy or chemotherapy.
