You might look like you have it all together, but inside, it’s a different story—waves of self-doubt, flashes of painful memories, or a quiet sadness that won’t go away. Maybe you’ve spent years pushing through, trying to keep control, but now it’s catching up to you. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a master’s degree from Cal State Los Angeles, I help adults untangle the emotional weight of trauma, depression, and identity struggles so they can reconnect with a more grounded sense of self.

I'm certified in EMDR and use an integrative approach to treating trauma.
Do you feel disconnected from yourself or others around you? Do you feel unsure how to express your true self or live the life you want? As a Gender, Sex, and Relationship Diversity knowledgable therapist, I offer a supportive environment to address issues in life that may be holding you back. Sometimes it's our own beliefs about ourselves or the limiting beliefs we hold about our true potential that are our greatest barriers. Therapy can help uncover these barriers and help you learn skills and techniques to work more collaboratively with yourself and life so that you feel you're more truly living as opposed to just surviving.

I do this by using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, and EMDR.
I use Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing ( EMDR) to treat and relieve PTSD, acute stress, and anxiety symptoms resulting from traumatic and other life experiences. EMDR therapy can produce elevated emotional and somatic reactions during and after treatment. A typical client experiences a 60-90% reduction in stress as a result of completed treatment.

Finally, I integrate EMDR and Gottman-informed work to process deeper emotional wounds and shift core patterns, allowing lasting change to take root.
Do you find yourself questioning your worth, feeling “not enough,” or unfulfilled in your relationships? You may feel stuck in patterns you can’t break—replaying the past, struggling to move forward, or feeling emotionally distant even when you want closeness. I work with adults and couples navigating self-worth issues and relationship patterns rooted in past or present wounds. My approach is depth-oriented, relational, and focused on real change—not just insight. Clients often come seeking relief, clarity, and a more secure sense of self and connection.

Using a combination of EMDR, parts work, somatic tools, and identity-affirming practices, we’ll create a plan uniquely tailored to you.
For as long as you can remember, life’s been a struggle. You learned early on that it was safest to stay small, quiet, and not make a fuss. As you got older, you found yourself repeating these same patterns in your relationships, enduring a string of toxic partners because you don’t believe you deserve any better. All the while, you keep a smile on your face. You take on more and more responsibility, spreading yourself perilously thin, hiding your feelings behind a successful facade. It’s exhausting, but it’s easier than facing the truth; that every day you feel more anxious, trapped, and disconnected. Something has to change.

Hello and welcome to my profile. As a family therapist for over twenty-five years, I have learned what may work best for my clients, and I'm passionate about what I do. I often work with young people from age thirteen through their late- twenties, and anyone suffering loss, especially the loss of a pet. Perhaps because I still have vivid memories of my young self, and believe the animal-human bond is so strong these topics have special meaning for me. Subspecialties include trauma and stress management, parenting and support for caregivers.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
