Currently Serving as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with bilingual skills and multicultural background leading group and individual therapy using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and other Cognitive Behavior Therapy models at Kaiser Permanente following the FIC model.
My approach to therapy relies on the premise of collaboration and trust to begin with a strong therapeutic alliance. I find it essential to engage in a non-judgmental approach using a curious stance and Socratic dialog to elicit elaboration of salient issues, as new insights are uncovered.

I am here to share my expertise in diverse modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Processing, Interpersonal Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), with inclusion to your cultural background and environmental needs.
Goal setting usually takes 1-2 sessions. We will collaborate on what’s most important for you to focus on so that we can make the most of our time together. I suggest focusing on only 1-2 goals at a time. Once you’ve met your goals, we can choose others when appropriate.

My approach is starting where the client is at and introducing them to the most suitable therapeutic models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, Motivational Interviewing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and other models that have shown to be effective in the treatment of psychological conditions.
My ideal client is someone who is consistent with appointments and the rest is history. Making the decision to seek therapy services for most is when life challenges can be overwhelming and are unable to manage on their own. Therapy services need to be client-centered based on their current needs and foremost need to be client-driven at all times.

Still performing. Still achieving. Deadlines hit, calls returned. All while running on empty. I specialize in therapy for high-achieving professionals — attorneys, physicians, tech founders, senior academics — whose drive built their career and is now costing them sleep, presence, and connection. High-functioning anxiety. Burnout may not look dramatic from the outside. Difficulty disconnecting. A widening gap between how life looks and how it feels. At some point our "push through" strategy no longer works. Figuring out what comes next — without losing the gifts that got you here.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. I enjoy supporting clients who are ready to work on their relationships—with partners, family members, and themselves—in a meaningful and intentional way. As a bicultural and bilingual therapist, I am deeply aware of the stigma surrounding mental health, as well as the impact of generational trauma and racial and cultural stressors. I believe each person has the capacity for growth and change, and my goal is to empower you to define what healing looks like for you—while reminding you that you do not have to do it alone.

Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
