Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists in Bonsall, CA
Somewhere along the way, the life you imagined started to feel out of reach. Maybe it's anxiety that lives in your body before your brain even registers why. Maybe it's a relationship cycling through the same painful patterns — or experiences you've carried for years without knowing how to set them down. You've tried pushing through. You've done the reading. And still, something keeps pulling you back. What if the missing piece isn't working harder, but finally understanding how your brain and nervous system have been responding — and giving them something better?

Something feels off and you can't quite name it.
Maybe it's the anxiety that shows up without warning, tightening your chest before you even know why. Or the nagging sense that you're going through the motions, disconnected from yourself and the life you thought you'd be living by now. You might recognize the patterns: the self-doubt, the self-sabotage, the same loops playing out no matter how hard you try to break free. And you wonder why knowing about them isn't enough to change them.
You're not broken. But you may be carrying more than you've had real support to process.

Anxiety and OCD are my specialties but I also have some training in alcohol and substance use issues, as I completed my practicum at Sharp McDonald Center and my associate hours at Bold Health.
The therapeutic relationship can be an invaluable opportunity to foster growth, take intelligent risks, and rewrite unhelpful narratives. Often the most important and difficult changes in life are internal. Moreover, the most critical changes can begin with the acceptance of a painful reality. Sometimes it is helpful to explore these realities with a supportive individual who has some distance from the situation. I find the most successful clients are curious about their own beliefs and feelings. While they want to be challenged, they also believe in the necessity of self-compassion.

We have specialized training and experience treating anxiety/ OCD, depression, relationship conflict, and trauma.
We help kids, teens, and young adults who struggle with anxiety gain the confidence they need to put themselves out there and build healthy relationships. Our clients struggle just like you and your kids do. Despite being bright, academically high achieving, and able to seemingly balance it all, life is still hard. daily life. You may be worried about your child or teen, your marriage, your job, and more.
Issues arise at every life stage, and managing them can be overwhelming. What are you struggling with right now? Maybe you’re feeling hopeless, lost, stuck or confused. Something else? Uncertainty about best steps forward can increase your distress.
You want clarity. Ease. Skills to manage the tough things when they arise. A plan where you can see tangible results.

If you or your child are struggling with OCD, trauma, anxiety, or an eating disorder, life may feel increasingly restricted by intrusive thoughts, anxiety, rigid patterns, perfectionism, or self-criticism.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR. Treatment often begins with ACT and CBT to build coping skills, increase flexibility, and reduce avoidance. When underlying trauma is impacting symptoms, we may utilize EMDR, a therapy designed to help the brain "digest" difficult/traumatic experiences adaptively.

I specialize in treating individuals with anxiety, OCD, addiction, and psychosis.
Remember the last time that you felt fulfilled. What did it take? Chances are that it was not the result of staying in your comfort zone. Opening up your inner world can feel vulnerable. Doing the work that it takes to reach your goals may not feel comfortable. And that’s the thing. Comfortable does not lead to growth. What can lead to growth is taking on new challenges with the guidance and support of a compassionate and experienced therapist. I strive to provide a therapeutic relationship that my clients may use for their growth, whether that means gaining insight, connecting with others, or managing distressing symptoms.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
