I enjoy helping my clients grow into an authentic and empowered version of themselves! I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, attachment issues, depression, relationship issues, and self- esteem. The people I work with are usually tired of repeating the same patterns that are not working for them. I have spent most of my career working in a trauma center and at private practice treating a variety of client concerns. I have a particular passion for working with clients that struggle with emotion regulation and anxiety, and setting boundaries in relationships.

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness-based approaches, and Motivational Interviewing to help you explore anxious thoughts, process painful experiences, and shift relational patterns with intention.
Anxiety can leave you overthinking conversations, questioning your role in relationships, or feeling unsettled during life transitions. I hold a Master’s in Counseling (MC) from Palo Alto University (2021), and my path into this field began with my own desire to better understand myself and the dynamics of relationships through personal therapy. That experience inspired a genuine commitment to sit with adults (18+) in vulnerable moments, and I remain continually inspired by clients and colleagues as I deepen the care I provide.

Blending Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, & Motivational Interviewing, I help clients reconnect with their values and uncover new ways to respond to emotional pain.
When life feels overwhelming or relationships begin to feel strained, it’s easy to lose sight of your own needs. You might find yourself caught in cycles of self-doubt, irritability, or withdrawal—struggling to manage the emotional weight of depression, anxiety, or past trauma. With over three decades of experience and a background in child psychology, I draw from my MA from Western Carolina University and a MYSPY from Oklahoma State to support teens and adults navigating these difficult patterns.

Many of my clients seek EMDR specifically because they are looking for a deeper, more effective approach to healing and personal growth. EMDR is often chosen by individuals who are ready to move beyond insight alone and actively process the experiences that continue to shape their lives. For clients committed to meaningful transformation, EMDR offers a powerful pathway toward healing that is both evidence-based and results-oriented.

My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices.
Anxiety, depression, and PTSD can quietly shape how you relate to yourself and others, often leaving you feeling disconnected or unsure how to move forward. As a first-generation Latina, I’ve always felt a strong pull to give back to my community and support meaningful change in people’s lives. I earned my MSW from Cal State LA in 2018, and I’m inspired by the strength and courage I witness as individuals navigate their mental health journeys. Care focuses on helping you deepen self-understanding, strengthen relationships, and respond to challenges with greater clarity and compassion.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
