” Generational trauma, unspoken family roles, or inherited survival patterns may shape how you relate, cope, and make decisions.
I’m a South Asian psychodynamic therapist who helps clients understand the root causes of anxiety, depression, relational struggles, and generational trauma. My approach is collaborative and individualized, honoring your cultural context and personal history. We explore patterns shaped by the past so therapy feels intentional, not surface-level or rushed.

My specialty is Trauma and PTSD.
Traumatic events causes one to develop negative beliefs about oneself or the world. These experiences become fixed in the body-mind in form of negative emotions causing anger, depression, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, panic, anxiety, phobias, shame, low self-esteem which can create difficulties with your relationships at home and at work. I use EMDR to heal the deep wounds of traumatic childhood events which are the source that one may believe that he/she is not a good enough person, not loveable, does not deserve to be loved or trusted. Negative self beliefs and negative emotions effects our body and mind causing physical and emotional distress.

I work with trauma, abuse, bi polar, depression, high conflict custody and divorce, anxiety, attachment issues and self regulation.
My ideal client is someone who wants to understand what is not working in their lives and allows me to help them to learn and to grow. I think it's a collaborative effort on my part as well as the client. I see each client as bringing a unique internal perspective that needs to be thought about carefully and with insight.

My approach is depth-oriented, trauma-informed, and relational.
You may look like you’re functioning well on the outside - successful, creative, accomplished - yet inside you feel tense, blocked, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself and others. Many of the people I work with are artists, performers, writers, entrepreneurs, and professionals who have learned to push through pain, self-doubt, and relational wounds without fully resolving them. At a certain point, pushing through is no longer enough - you want to feel like yourself again.

I help individuals navigate trauma, addiction, anxiety, and relationship struggles with an approach that is both direct and deeply engaged.
Many of the people I work with are high functioning on the outside but struggling privately. They’re successful, capable, and often admired, yet feel anxious, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or stuck repeating the same painful patterns in relationships and life. Therapy becomes relevant when the strategies that once helped them succeed begin costing them their peace, intimacy, or sense of self. My work helps people move beyond survival mode and toward lives that feel more honest, connected, and fully their own.

Do you feel stuck in patterns that keep repeating, no matter how much you try to change? You may look like you have it together, yet feel anxious, disconnected, or unfulfilled inside. Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-functioning individuals who struggle with relationships, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm. Together, we slow things down, make sense of what’s beneath the surface, and help you create more clarity, connection, and lasting change.

I specialize in working with experiences of developmental trauma, anxiety, depression and neurodiversity with adults, children and adolescents.
I work with individuals from all walks of life who may have concerns about not having the experience of being felt with and by others, navigating the balance of intimacy and agency in relation to others, and understanding their internal world more richly. I enjoy practicing from psychoanalytic and neurodiversity-affirming frameworks rooted in the body as I find it gives individuals an opportunity to come in genuine contact with themselves. Fundamental to my approach is the belief that who we are — our sense of self and how we move in the world — is immensely shaped by our unique temperaments and early life imprints for experiencing.

For those who are struggling with stuck traumatic states and symptoms of PTSD, I utilize EMDR to help re-instill a sense of agency, security, and resolution.
This stuckness…dread…panic…numbness…confusion... Whatever it is you’re experiencing, there may be a sense that the problem is unrelenting. Perhaps your old ways of resolving the pain or filling the emptiness aren’t doing the trick anymore. There is a reckoning brewing inside of you and the more you try to side-step it, the more your symptoms rage. This reckoning is troublesome, no doubt, but it’s also a profound opportunity…an opportunity to respond to a voice deep down inside of you that somehow knows something better is possible…

You may find yourself repeating the same patterns. You think it through and try to approach things differently, yet you end up returning to the same situations, reactions, and outcomes. I practice psychoanalytic therapy, where we focus on what happens at the point where something doesn’t go as intended, where something gets in the way or begins to repeat despite your intentions. These patterns often emerge in the therapeutic setting itself, allowing us an opportunity to work with them directly.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
