Together, we identify what keeps you stuck and create healthier ways to communicate, connect, and feel secure in your relationship, all while honoring your Christian faith.
You’re successful in many areas of your life, but your relationship feels like the one place where things aren’t flowing the way you hoped. If you’re in a relationship, you may feel stuck in cycles where conversations turn into tension, shutdown, or frustration, leaving both of you feeling disconnected and emotionally unsafe. You love your partner and your faith, and you want more than just getting through conversations. You want to feel heard, understood, and deeply connected, with the ability to express your needs openly and feel secure in your relationship.

Life doesn't have to be in crisis to feel overwhelming. If lately, the world feels heavier, louder, & faster. You might not be looking for a diagnosis; you might just be looking for a place to lay your burdens down. I believe therapy isn't just for 'fixing' what is broken; it’s a dedicated space to process the weight of being human in a difficult time. My approach isn't about gathering the pieces; it's about intervening so you can embody the skills to navigate your life without falling apart. My approach meets you as a person, not a patient. Together, we’ll navigate the exhaustion and the quiet burnout to help you find your footing.

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." (Maya Angelou) I understand that as we experience life we will inevitably encounter obstacles and stressors that challenge us to change. I also believe these moments present opportunities for transformation. I recognize that life transitions and personal experiences can sometimes be overwhelming, however they can also be valuable seasons with the potential to generate "peak and valley" experiences that can alter our life course.

Are you tired of being the emotional project manager in your relationships? Do you find yourself over-explaining, over-giving, or over-functioning for people you love? Are you the peacekeeper… even when it costs you your voice? Do you stay calm on the outside while mentally writing resignation letters from relationships? Well hello — I’m really glad you’re here. If you’re the woman who looks capable on the outside but feels stretched thin, overwhelmed, or quietly exhausted on the inside, you’re in the right place.

Hello and welcome. I am Regina Rye, M.S., LPC-S, LAC, LCDC, NCC, Founder of Genuine Hearts Treatment Clinic (GHTC). You may look like you have everything together on the outside, but inside, it feels overwhelming. Your mind may be constantly racing, replaying conversations, overanalyzing decisions, and pushing you to meet high expectations, yet it still does not feel like enough. You may struggle to say no, feel guilty when you rest, or feel emotionally drained from trying to hold everything together. At times, you may also feel disconnected, unfulfilled, or quietly low, even when everything in your life appears fine.

I’m really glad you found your way here. Many people I work with are capable, values-driven, and deeply committed to doing a good job in every role they hold. You may be raising children, supporting aging parents, leading at work, serving your community, or all of the above. Your days are full, your mind rarely rests, and your to-do list never seems finished. At night, it’s hard to turn things off because there is always something else to manage, plan, or prepare for, feeling tired in a way that rest does not easily fix. Many of my clients carry a strong sense of responsibility and a belief that they should be able to do it all.

I want to applaud you for the courageous act of saying “Yes” to yourself by seeking out professional support. While this can be a necessary step in the journey towards healing, I recognize for many of us, it can be an intimidating ( and even scary) step, to say the least. Whether it's the feeling of anxiety overtaking you, depression debilitating you, or just the stresses of life overwhelming you, you are not alone! My hope is to create a safe space for your emotional pain and help you not only get "unstuck", but to explore together how you got derailed in the first place.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
