You may look like you’re holding everything together on the outside, yet feel overwhelmed, anxious, or weighted down by painful experiences from your past. If trauma, chronic stress, or anxiety are keeping you from living the life you want, you don’t have to face it alone.

After nearly two decades in clinical practice, my own experiences with learning differences, co occurring challenges, and medical issues reshaped how I understand healing. I came to appreciate an approach grounded in the present, focused on solutions, growth, and meaningful change rather than endless exploration of the past. I found that insight alone does not create relief. My work is goal oriented, practical, and collaborative. I help clients identify patterns, overcome obstacles, and build lasting change so they can regain direction, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose in their lives and relationships moving forward.

Life feels heavy. You wake up wondering how things got so hard and why nothing seems to help. No matter how much you try to move on, the past has a way of creeping back in—showing up in your relationships, your thoughts, and your body. You’re tired of pretending everything’s fine when it’s not. You’ve spent so long holding it together that falling apart feels terrifying, yet staying the same feels impossible. Deep down, you know something needs to change. You’re ready to stop running from the pain and finally understand it—so you can start feeling like yourself again.

Have you noticed that your past tends to show up in ways you didn't expect? Maybe you're turning to alcohol or substances more than you'd like, finding yourself easily frustrated by others, or stuck in the same relationship patterns no matter how hard you try. When life feels out of control, it can be hard to understand why you keep reacting, escaping, or shutting down, even when part of you knows something needs to change.

You're tired. Not just from work or poor sleep, your spirit is tired. The kind of tired that a weekend of bed-rotting can't fix anymore. Maybe it's been a slow accumulation, many small wounds over time, and somewhere along the way your nervous system got stuck. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you know you don't want to keep bracing through it alone. You've been carrying a lot, for a long time. If you're resonating with what you've read so far, you have landed in the right place.

I am in-network with Aetna, Carelon, and Ascension, and I also welcome clients paying out of pocket.
You are good at holding it together. At work, at home, in the roles you carry, everything looks handled. But inside it can feel different: anxiety that will not switch off, a mind that will not slow down, a quiet exhaustion you have pushed through for a long time. You are the one others count on, and it is harder to admit when you are the one who needs support. Most of my clients are accomplished professionals who function well on the outside while carrying a heavy load underneath. Therapy is a place to catch your breath and feel like yourself again. Together we look at what is driving the stress and build skills that last.

Most of our psychological pain and suffering, our inhibitions and limitations in achieving a satisfying life, are the result of primitive anxieties that we have carried within ourselves since the very time we were, indeed, really helpless. For those clients with BCBS or Aetna, I recommend confirming your benefits prior to the first appointment.
Finding a therapist is often the first step toward reclaiming a sense of self that has been overshadowed by stress, conflict, or past trauma. My ideal client is someone who feels stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. You might be navigating a major life transition, trauma, struggling with anxiety, or getting stuck in the same patterns. I believe that the foundation of any successful therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space. Therapy can be intimidating and you deserve a process that feels accessible and grounded. You need a therapist who honors your unique story and that you feel comfortable with.

I work with people-pleasing millennials who want to heal from past emotional wounds and stop self-sabotaging. Do you struggle with anxiety, body image and patterns of self-judgment? Always putting others needs before your own? The traumas and abuse you experience throughout your lifespan- big or small, can warp the way you see yourself, making you question everything, overthink, and cause you to stand in your own way. If this feels relatable, you are not alone. I will work with you to break through these barriers, heal, and create a life that aligns with your values.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer Employee Assistance Plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy.

What is an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)?
Employee Assistance Plans are purchased by employers for the benefit of their employees. EAPs typically assist employees with referrals and may also provide the first few sessions of therapy free of charge, with the patient's regular health insurance kicking in after those initial sessions. EAP benefits often apply to all types of therapy without the need for a medical diagnosis, making it easier to access couples therapy, therapy for life transitions, and other non-medical counseling. Just as with standard health insurance, clients should always check that a provider accepts their EAP benefits before scheduling. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
