We come to therapy to understand and solve our most complex personal challenges. When suffering goes deep enough, therapy is an intuitive response to problems that are emotionally complex and cannot be solved by our ordinary methods. Therapy alleviates our isolation by giving us the specialized and dedicated attention of a therapist. Therapy restores or kindles confidence in our ability to make it through difficult times. Lastly, it gives us some emotional distance, some sense of freedom, from the at times consuming turmoil of our personal lives by stimulating a deeper or broader understanding.

You may appear to be doing well on the outside, but inside, you feel anxious, low, or disconnected. You might struggle to understand yourself, feel stuck in familiar patterns, or find relationships and partnering difficult. You’re thoughtful, values-driven, and somewhat spiritual, yet unsure how to feel grounded or fulfilled. You want more than coping skills, you want clarity, emotional connection, and a way to feel more present and engaged in your life.

Well, hello and thank you for taking the time to check my profile. I believe that life presents challenges to everyone regardless of culture, language, creed or personal strength. Often, there is a need for support to initiate corrections, change direction or even just for clarification of issues that manifest in the present moment. Challenge is also an opportunity. With the right approach, therapy may prove to be an effective tool. Our relationship would be dynamic and custom geared to validate, understand and address any issues of import to you as human being. Your life is unique, priceless and worthy of respect.

Of late, it seems, many of my clients are couples; men ; adolescents; and mid-life and elderly of both sexes.
In this day and age of the fast and quick--Long term, client centered, depth oriented, let's take a real good look, psychotherapy seems a creature of the distant past. Yet it is what allows us to better discover ourselves and our relationships.

Hello, I'm Tracey. Our thinking can directly impact the quality of our life, either positively or negatively, whether it be feelings of depression, stress, anxiety or uncertainty. With compassion and warmth, I gracefully help you address beliefs and narratives that may not be supporting you, fulfill your needs, as well as highlight your strengths. What I most want for you is to be seen authentically, be fully comfortable processing your feelings, grow/heal sustainably and enjoy the life you've been given. Let me know if you'd like this for yourself too and we can set up an exploratory call to see how I can support you.

Although I work with a broad spectrum of clients and issues, I specialize in youth and family issues.
Navigating personal development, family, and relational issues is difficult enough by itself, let alone when you are dealing with psycho-social-emotional difficulties. I am a relatively interactive clinician, using my professional and life experience to empathetically connect with a variety of issues.

I work with individuals, couples, children, and teens, and provide a supportive and grounded space to help you navigate challenging life transitions or past life events that are impacting your day-to-day quality of your life.
Have anxious thoughts become overwhelming and led you to doubt yourself and your decisions? Maybe it’s tough to get out of a bed in the morning, or you keep pushing and striving, but have difficulty accessing a sense of fulfillment and peace? Maybe you feel like you’re always giving to and pleasing others, but don’t ever feel nourished and “filled up” yourself? Therapy is a great way to get support in navigating the daily challenges of life, but also the bigger and more long-term struggles.

You may be feeling temporarily overwhelmed by the situation, in your relationship, at work, in the culture you live in or you may have felt emotionally distressed over a long period of time. In both cases, therapy can be the first step to bring relief, self actualization and happiness to you and your loved ones.

You may feel constantly overwhelmed—pulled between work, parenting, and relationships, yet still feeling like you’re falling short. Maybe your child is struggling with big emotions, your family feels disconnected, or you’re carrying everyone else’s needs while trying to hold it all together. Many of the parents and adults I work with feel burnt out, anxious, and unsure how to break out of the same exhausting patterns. In therapy, I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to gently explore these patterns with compassion and patience.

I am a bicultural/bilingual, latinx psychologist with extensive experience working with youth of all ages who are struggling with mood, anxiety, and impulse control, and families who have experienced trauma.
I also provide therapy to parents. Our children do not need to be struggling for parenting to feel hard. As a mother of two children myself, I know parenting is hard. Whether you are preparing for parenthood, in the transition/early years, or have been a parent for a decade, parents benefit from a safe space with no judgement to share their worries.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
