I am a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and groups to help them resolve issues interfering with emotional and mental health. My aim is to help empower clients to live a fully conscious and meaningful life in harmony with the world around them. Using the techniques and training listed below I’ve helped clients manage and overcome relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and other issues. I also have experience as an EMT, Buddhist chaplain, and prison counselor, so I bring diverse perspectives on health and the human condition to our work together.

I am a psychoanalyst specializing in the phenomena of unconscious mental life. Patients are often referred to my practice after previous efforts have felt unhelpful, limited or kept one "stuck" in and out of therapy. My focus is both on the material functioning within awareness, and dynamics operating underneath our wish--and fears--to change. This substance generates felt and unfelt strife within all individuals, regardless of symptoms, situation or diagnosis. That is to say, there is invaluable MEANING and FUNCTION to any thought, feeling or behavior. We do not operate separately from our selves.

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New Jersey, Ohio, Maryland, and Virginia. Over the past 20 years I have worked collaboratively with clients on a wide range of issues, and am comfortable utilizing a variety of techniques designed to help empower my clients and establish a greater sense of integrity within their lives.
