Sometimes the challenges of life can be overwhelming. We may feel stagnant, unbalanced, and/or ambivalent. We can either suffer in the current conditions, or be responsible for changing them. The choice is ours. I utilize well-researched, evidence-based practices to help clients develop concrete skills and techniques to effectively manage a variety of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, interpersonal problems, and relationship issues. My focus is to build a collaborative relationship and assist clients in making positive changes in their lives by applying practical and proven strategies. I place importance on self-awareness, exploring how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected.
Together we will explore how attitude toward self and others impacts personal behaviors. Clients may explore how emotional and psychological obstacles from the past and present interfere with attaining personal fulfillment, empowerment, and optimal day-to-day functioning. Clients will be challenged and provided with mental and behavioral tools that can help improve their lives.
I specialize in individual and couples counseling, family therapy, stress management, anger management, substance abuse, and recovery maintenance. As a veteran, I understand and have experience in working with military culture (active duty and veterans) and the struggles that family and loved ones endure.
