I have a basic belief in the ability of people to grow, mature and improve their life skills and get through difficult times with support from an objective, mature and empathic professional. With more than 40 years of practice, I have a broadly-based life experience and academic background, utilize an holistic/ecclectic approach and offer practical, down-to-earth feedback designed to meet your specific needs and help you cope more effectively in your personal life and at work.
I provide forensic evaluations, co-parenting counseling and consultation for attorneys and employers. I teach parents how to help children be more responsible. I treat depression, anxiety, relationship problems and trauma using CBT and EMDR. I work with children, teens and adults individually, as couples, as families, in groups and with first responders.
My Mendocino office is in an old hotel that overlooks the ocean. Appointments are available there on Tuesdays and Saturdays. My Ukiah office is conveniently located downtown. Appointments are available there on Thursdays. Other days and times can be arranged. I offer telephone and zoom sessions with established clients.

For men and women recovering from the breakup or loss of a significant partner relationship. Provides an opportunity for feedback from and communication skill practice with peers. Admission requires a private intake interview with Dr. Phillips Sill and recommendation of your individual therapist. Group sessions are for 6 weeks. Dates will be announced as soon as 6 persons sign up.

A-B-C Solutions for Families

Co-parenting communication and problem-solving skills, creating and implementing detailed parenting plans for divorcing or never married parents living apart. Parts A and B classes available in Ukiah and Mendocino when six couples sign up. Court-ordered and voluntary referrals accepted. Parents attend Part A separately but must attend Part B together. Part C assists co-parent couples negotiating the details of their court-ordered parenting plan and implementing it effectively. $600 retainer required for Part C. Sliding fee scale available with proof of income.

Contracting for Responsibility with Your Children

To assist parents in teaching their school age children that responsible behavior with school grades and home chores earns privileges and rewards. This workshop takes place 3 - 4 times a year, based upon demand, on three consecutive weekends (two hours each Saturday) with homework done between sessions. Parent couples (or single parents) will complete age-appropriate contracts for each child in the family. Follow-up consultation can be arranged on an as-needed basis. Sliding fee scale available with proof of income.
