My approach toward counseling is to treat each individual based on where they are and meet them where they are comfortable. I have an existential-humanistic approach where I help my clients look beyond their immediate situation and look at how they may have gotten to this issue and where do they want to go from here. I believe that there is a reason for why we are feeling and reacting the way we are. It is about discovering the root cause. Whether my clients are going through a new diagnosis, trauma, grief, depression, or anxiety, I help encourage them to find the strength to keep fighting because perseverance is an amazing feeling.
Before I became a therapist, I was a full-time artist. Having an art background as a therapist has been helpful especially with my creative clients that may be struggling with creative block. I understand how complicated the creative mind can be and help my clients see this as well.
I have been through my own struggles and persevered. I understand the profound feelings of moving through grief, trauma, and fear. I understand the depths of pain that can come with losing a loved one. And I know how to move through to create a more fulfilled life.
