Trauma manifests in many ways: sudden and intense emotions, uncomfortable bodily reactions, intrusive and uncomfortable memories, as examples. I developed and utilize a special version of EMDR that is less intense, where the telling of uncomfortable memories or situations is not necessary. Nor do I require an emotional or bodily response. Instead, I focus on the underlying issue - negative beliefs. This version of EMDR is highly successful, and in most cases does not require extensive sessions.
I also assist individuals struggling with pornography and out of control sexual behavior. I also help in all other general mental health areas including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and conflict management. I accept Aetna, Cigna, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare. I offer free 30 minute consultations over the phone or in my office.
My out of pocket rate is $120 for an hour of individual or a couples session. Many clients who self-pay may also get some reimbursement - the best thing to do in that case is to call your insurance company and ask if they will treat my services as out of network. I take cash, check, credit card, health savings account, Venmo, Cash App.
