I'm a Psychologist with an Integrative perspective, comfortable working with a variety of types of people and problems from a variety of perspectives. It is as important to be able to work towards change in the present, as it is to revisit and understand how one's developmental history may be influencing present issues or repeating patterns. I have found truths in many theoretical approaches, and as much from studies outside of Psychology as within it.
I work well with adults and couples, and issues regarding children. I am interested in how patterns get replicated and how to change this, and in coping with and negotiating major life transitions, involving meaning, identity, loss, and life roles.
My background before Psychology is in study of philosophy, religions, and literature, and continues to inform my work as a Psychologist. I also have much experience working with military Veterans and their families, and individuals with serious mental illness.
