Therapy can look and feel very different with each provider. You or your child may have seen therapists in the past who were not able to make a meaningful connection. Or maybe your child has never seen a therapist. At Brooklyn Child Therapy, we work to first build a strong, trusting, empathetic relationship. BCT's goal is to support you and your child by providing a safe space to explore emotions and life experiences, and to practice useful thinking and behavioral strategies. Neurodivergence is welcome and celebrated.
We practice a relational approach to therapy that is person-centered, and allows us to organically discover the patterns and connections developed within your child's life. When less helpful life patterns develop, we will use CBT, play and expressive therapies, mindfulness and social skills coaching to help explore those patterns and their alternatives.
We have worked with children and adolescents for the better part of the last decade. We work with kids experiencing anxiety and depression, relationship and family system issues, substance use/addiction, self-harming behavior, dangerous or destructive behavior, and more. We love our work, and look forward to building a great relationship with you.
