I am a CA licensed psychologist who specializes in anxiety and identity based disorders. I have 10 yrs of experience as an expert in eating disorders and body image issues, particularly with college populations. In addition to this I have experience with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, OCD, LGBTQIA identity issues, trauma, grief, etc. I consider my approach to be holistic and collaborative. I received my doctorate degree from Antioch University Seattle. I then completed my APPIC doctoral internship at Western Washington University Counseling Center, and went on to complete a post-doctoral internship in the partial hospitalization program at Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in Cambridge, MA.
My approach is based primarily on CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectal behavioral therapy), and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). I utilize psychodynamic principles to look at patterns and family dynamics from the past to better understand the present. "Happiness is not something ready made.
