I see therapy as a collaborative process and believe that everyone has the capacity to change and grow. Many clients I work with are seeking therapy for understanding, connection, and support as they navigate through life’s challenges. Oftentimes, there are experiences or events that have occurred throughout the lifespan that lead folks to feeling stuck in the past or anxious about the future. I believe that examining and understanding these experiences can help individuals recognize current patterns, thought processes, and behaviors that might be keeping them from living in alignment with their values.
As a therapist, I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach to ensure that my client’s needs are central to the change process. Through ACT, I help clients acknowledge and embrace their wide range of thoughts and emotions. I also use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.
The therapy session is a space to explore emotions, behaviors, and seek understanding. Therapy can be beautiful and challenging all in the same moment. Knowing this, I value making clients feel understood, accepted, and safe.
