My counseling philosophy is grounded in trauma-informed practices, meaning I value collaboration, empowerment, and emotional and physical safety above all else. In time, clients will gain a richer understanding of themselves while working towards self-determined goals. I am especially attuned to those experiencing LGBT issues, trauma, and depression, as well as various non-monogamous relationships and organizing for social justice. As a social worker and through lived experience, I am highly aware of the daily social, institutional, and communal injustices that impact different historically oppressed people.
To supplement a trauma-informed practice, I utilize CBT, Brainspotting, ACT, DBT, narrative, and solution-focused therapies when supporting a client. For those working towards understanding unconscious bias based on race, ability, class, or creed, I take an antiracist, intersectional, and systems approach to foster growth and accompliceship development.
Reaching out to a new therapist can feel overwhelming and intimidating. I want to recognize the courage you have to start this journey and encourage you to take the next step. When you're ready, contact me and I'll get back to you shortly. For the fastest response, please contact me through email.
