As both a psychologist and gynecologist, I've been helping Atlanta women and their partners since 1986 with problems such as infertility, pelvic pain, and gynecological cancers. Additionally, as both a psychologist and retired obstetrician, I've helped countless women with prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum mental health concerns. Finally, as a psychologist and medical doctor, I've worked with men and women regarding both chronic and acute medical diagnoses. While a medical doctor, I nevertheless felt pulled to also practice clinical psychology with the freedom to build strong, meaningful, and nurturing relationships with people experiencing reproductive and other medical concerns.
My practice, Center for Medical Psychology and Counseling (CMPC) (centermedpsych.com), specializes in several areas, including: infertility (centermedpsych.com/repropsych); pregnancy and postpartum (centermedpsych.com/cradle); chronic and acute medical diagnoses (centermedpsych.com/bodywise); patient advocacy (centermedpsych.com/advocate); and more.
In addition to my specialties of reproductive and medical psychology, I also specialize in anxiety disorders and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Anxiety in Women: Mindfulness & Acceptance Therapy

Did you know that a small amount of worry can be a very normal experience for women? It's true: the feeling of worry or concern that we women often have is a protective feeling that can alert us to something amiss requiring us to be careful. So, having a small amount of anxiety can be helpful when we're walking in a dark parking garage late at night, or attending our annual job-performance evaluation, or skiing the Rockies for the first time.
