The process of therapy is unique to each person and it is difficult to define. I see therapy as a relationship in which people learn about themselves by being in relationship with each other. Each client I work with has different needs and different ways in which they would like to engage in therapy. My goal is to bring my authentic self; weird, jovial, playful, and direct, to the relationship and to allow for those different needs to be met. Through our interactions, processing difficult topics, laughter, and tears I believe that healing happens.
In my clinic I, and my interns, provide a wide range of services including couples, family, and individual therapy. you can visit our website to see each of their areas of special focus. I have focused on gender, sexuality and sexual orientation, and neurodivergence throughout my career. Each of these areas intersect historically have been underrepresented.
My style is direct and compassionate. I think that therapy should not be a mystery but it should be a collaboration between me and my clients. I am a good fit for people who want to engage in back and forth dialogue, who like to be gently challenged, and who want a place they can discuss any topic and know it will be met with compassion and acceptance.
