I believe that we all find ourselves in stuck places throughout our lives with confusion and overwhelm about where to go and what to do next. It is even more challenging when we are isolated in these places, not knowing who to trust or who will show up for us. This is where counseling comes in as a compassionate space that encourages the person to keep going and to know themselves more deeply in the process.
I seek to provide a warm, empathetic, trauma-informed, and sometimes directive space that integrates evidenced-based modalities including CBT, DBT, Attachment, and Somatic/Body-focused therapies. I guide clients in noticing their natural strengths and in believing they have within themselves the ability to persist and grow.
It is my belief that Jesus is the ultimate hope, healer, and companion through stuck places in life, but I meet clients where they are at in each session, whether they have no interest in faith or a lot. I value and honor the various cultural and spiritual identities with which a client may enter the room.
