Clients need to be ready to explore with honesty and courage the patterns of behavior and relationships that leave them unhappy and repeating mistakes. Exploring the past, we look for beliefs and historical factors that create vulnerability for engaging in negative behaviors, and discover untapped strengths and potentials. Assessing the present, we find the obstacles, challenges, and opportunities that fill your days, so that you can develop patterns of greater enjoyment and personal satisfaction. Dreaming of the future, we develop and move toward realistic goals so that you are not looking back over a life of "I wish I would have". While maintaining a positive tone and outlook, I believe therapy is less about helping you feel good and more about helping you be good so you feel good. Sessions focus on understanding and altering less helpful, protective patterns of interaction and behavior and actively developing patterns that create excitement and greater intrinsic personal satisfaction.

Children of Divorce (adult, teen, & child groups)
Processing your parents' divorce is a difficult journey no matter the age. Each group focuses on helping individuals heal past the mixed and often painful feelings of their parents' divorce in a developmentally appropriate manner. Understanding your family's journey from love, through conflict, and hopefully back to love and acceptance again is the overall goal for each member of the group. Groups meet weekly with a commitment of 4 months.
