I have worked extensively with at-risk youth and families, addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and the effects of substance abuse on family dynamics. I utilize humanistic and existential psychotherapy to meet clients where they are and assist them in achieving their therapeutic goals. I gained specialized experience in multicultural counseling and bi-cultural adjustment through serving the refugee population of Fort Wayne and, I have a background in gender activism and politics. I use my experience working with marginal populations to create a safe and affirming space for all individuals.
I employ a holistic approach, focusing on client strengths, and use various therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Additionally, I have training experience in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma.
If you feel it would be a good fit, please contact the office to set up an intake. I would be glad to speak on the phone briefly about your journey toward therapy while discussing my background, as well as answering any questions. I wish you well on your journey toward therapy and self-realization!
