Change is never easy. Using a psychodynamic and humanistic approach in my career, I’ve regularly experienced how transformative self-discovery and introspection can be; and I believe everyone has the innate ability to carry out change in their own lives to gain clarity and recovery through that same process. For sixteen years, as a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, I worked with clients individually and in group sessions from culturally diverse backgrounds. In 2022, I also had the great experience of providing direct counseling services to middle and high school students at the Renaissance Charter School.
Working directly with the LGBTQIA+ community in Greenwich Village at The Center for five years I assisted clients dealing with depression, anxiety, gender, sexuality, and substance misuse. The goal of moving towards self acceptance and recovery from the very start, by establishing rapport with all clients using unconditional positive regard.
Every human being deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion, and these are the foundations of my approach. By providing my clients with a safe, supportive environment and approaching our work together in an open, warm, and non-judgemental way, I believe everyone can achieve their immediate and long-term treatment needs and goals.
