Hello and welcome to Rula. My goal for therapy is to create an emotionally safe place where you can talk through the issues that are getting in your way. It is a risk to reach out and trust someone you don’t know, especially when you are hurting. However, we will go at your pace, based on your feelings of comfort regarding what we are going to talk about. For me, therapy is open-ended with no explicit timeline from me or insurance. I will be checking in periodically about how you feel regarding your progress and reaching your goals.
My goal is to help you talk through the issues and losses that are getting in your way while creating an emotionally safe place in which to process. Life is rarely simple, and troubling events happen that can overwhelm and confuse us.
In therapy, there are times when you need to vent or problem solve, there are quiet times with deep thinking and feeling, and other times when you just need support while calming down from an overwhelming experience.
