Primarily, I see individual adults or teens (16+). I enjoy working with all genders, all sexual orientations, and mono- and polyamorous individuals. Over the past several years, I have gained an interest in working with Highly-Sensitive Persons (HSPs) as well as male-specific therapy. Challenges with mood (depression, bi-polar, dysthymia), anxiety (panic attacks, general anxiety, PTSD, phobias, OCD), psychosis-related disorders (schizophrenia), grief and loss, relationship concerns, adjusting to life transitions, career, and personal development. LGBTQ+ friendly and experienced in working through unique challenges.
I tend to vacillate between directive and non-directive depending on the client and their goals and amount of insight into their strengths and weaknesses. I certainly do not shy away from speaking up when there is a maladaptive behavior conflicting with stated goals. My background is that of cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approach and mindfulness.
