About
The approach I employ is informed by the view that psychoanalytic principles are radical in their nature, because part of the outcome aims at increasing one’s freedom from whatever constraining forces lead a person to embark on a therapeutic project. This is accomplished through a particular kind of listening to the patient's words and exploring the person’s history to locate previously unknown wishes one may then follow. Out of this can extend a life more creatively aligned with your singular vision.
Notwithstanding that every human has a uniqueness of their own, a few of the issues that can be explored in therapy are loss and grief, anxieties, interpersonal struggles, sexuality and gender, trauma, and self-defeating problems. My experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and couples (particularly those who identify as gay/queer).
I am a New York State licensed clinical social worker with an MSW from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Before joining Rose Hill, I worked and trained at community outpatient clinics and a college counseling center.
